Can I just say, I love your description of “festively plump” - brilliant! I would suggest that something with a well-defined waist will look great - so maybe a dress with a belt or that you can easily add a belt to. I think an A-line or fit and flare could work well for your shape but it’s hard to know until you try them on!

I agree with pp about the A line being a safe bet

I’m thinking an A line too. Whatever store you’re going to, they have professionals that will help you find your dress!

I am similar body type. I tried on different types. I thought for sure I’d get more of an empire waist but nope. I posted my dress in post before yours.

Try on different silhouettes! You never know what you’ll love, especially since you’re already so unsure.
I knew I didn’t want a ball gown or a mermaid, but I still tried on one of each. It confirmed that they weren’t for me, but I’m glad I tried them so I don’t have to wonder!

I would think A-mine with a structured bust (no illusion tops because they generally can’t offer support larger busts). Strapless dresses usually have great bust support and you can add sleeves if you want (swag, cap, wide straps).

A loose fit & flare might look lovely on you too!
