What to write on our registry webpage

Private User, on October 27, 2011 at 12:27 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

It will be kind of unusual / new that we are using a honeymoon fund instead of a regular registry. I don't know what to write on the "greeting" area. please help

We are doing the same. I just expressed that we understand that it is "tradition" to give gifts at a wedding, however we have switched it up a bit. We are asking for money towards our honeymoon being that we don't need your average "household items" because we have already been established in a home together for two years. So with that being said we want a "new beginning" with an awesome honeymoon. It was that idea maybe not those words. But the people you have coming to your wedding should know you and who you are, so they most likely would understand why you are looking for help with the honeymoon. The honeymoon can almost be just as much or close to the cost of the wedding.

    Hope this helps lady!

    Maybe?

Please join us on our special day,

    Your attendance is desired.

Don't feel obliged to give a gift,

But your dancing shoes are required.

If you were thinking of giving a gift,

What would really make our day,

Is a contribution to our honeymoon,

To help us on our way.

We're using Wanderable, which is quite good, as its free and has no ads. In their sample registry I like this line: "While your gift is not necessary, if you choose to contribute to our honeymoon, we would be very grateful!"

And although Hayley's poem was quite nice, I would probably insert something that although you would like them to be there, you understand that not everyone will be able to make it.

But you can always find lots of poems online for wishing wells/honeymoon registries.

    Best of luck!
