What to wear while getting ready?

PonyGirl618, on June 9, 2018 at 8:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 22
What are you all wearing when getting ready on your big day?

I wanted to get robes but 2 of my bridesmaids are pregnant and I know won’t wanna wear one. My other bridesmaid is very overweight and said she would feel uncomfortable.

I’ve only come up with loose matching tank tops or button downs but I’m not crazy about them. Any suggestions?

Loose t-shirts would also be nice.

Also, you could let the girls wear whatever they want, and if you want cute/cordinated photos or whatever ask them to all wear in the same color family. Like, wear your comfiest light blue getting ready out fit.

Yes, agreed. Like dresses, not every BM is going to feel comfortable in the same getting ready outfit. Everyone has different body types and preferences. I would give them a color or some kind of guideline and let them wear what they're comfortable in.

My bridal party (and every bridal party I've been part of) has worn whatever they want. If they're getting hair/makeup done I just remind them that they have to wear button downs or large necklines.

as a bride, I wore a tank and leggings with a "bridal" robe over the top.

all my friends who've spent money on "getting ready" outfits for bridal parties said they literally never used the stuff again so it wasn't a priority for me.

I don’t have a bridal party so I plan on wearing a button down shirt with comfy shorts so it’s easy to change. I’ve been a bridesmaid 3 times and every time we were able to wear whatever we wanted. Ask your bridesmaids what they want to wear. They should feel comfortable, it’s a long day for them too.

Literally no one will wear it ever again. It's a waste of money to have matching outfits to get ready in. And I really wish the robe trend would go away already. I was so uncomfortable having to wear a robe for pictures for my sister's wedding. Now I have a robe that I will never use for anything. For my bffs wedding last year we had to get matching tanks that again I will never wear again.

For every other wedding I've been in we just wore whatever we were comfortable in and it was much less stressful.

Love it! That will be so comfy and so fun. I would love to be told that, I'd totally show up in a black pair of yoga pants and a cute pink t-shirt & probably a pink sweatshirt incase I got cold!

I am wearing pajama shorts and a button down. I don’t want to wear a robe and I didn’t want to wear a T-shirt and have to pull it off over my hair. My girls all love plaid and I did want some coordinated photos so I just asked them to wear whatever plaid shirt (mine will say Mrs. on the back.) they feel most comfortable in and whatever they want on the bottom!! I chose pj’s because I want to be comfy!!

I agree, I would feel bad someone shelled out a robe that I will probably never wear again. I appreciate the thought but I respectfully pass.

I disagree. I still use the 2 robes I have received as a bridesmaid, one is 2 yrs old and one is 4 yrs old. I also just had robes for myself and my bridesmaids at my wedding. They help with getting ready, give a luxurious/pampered vibe, and they look beautiful together. I'm excited to see our getting ready robe pictures.

I’ll probably wear leggings and a flannel button up. I already own one that I likes lot, so I’ll probably wear that. Getting married in Oct so plaid flannel is perfect.

Im not asking my MOH to match me, she can wear what she wants. I’m not interested in having matching getting-ready photos, so whatever she wears is fine.

Got these for each of my girls, and one in "oatmeal" for myself. Made sure that they all like them and like the fit, and it's a hit with all of them. They can wear it with their own black leggings for max comfort
