Hi there! I am struggling to find the right undergarments to wear to my first alterations appointment in 2 weeks. My dress is a trumpet style and I had the rope customized as an illusion neckline. I don’t think I will need a bra, so the big question is- what to wear on the bottom? I worry about the seams as well as color but I suppose it’s worth mentioning that I think I’m wearing a purple lace thong in the picture lol I’m stuck between finding something that is sexy/pretty versus functional, like shape wear. The next question is where to shop. Thanks in advance!

    I have zero insight on this, but I just wanted to comment to tell you how beautiful your dress is! I don't think a thong would show lines much if at all though with your dress. The fabric seems pretty thick. I would just be sure to go up a size so it lays nicely against your skin vs digging in.

    I got my shapewear from David's Bridal. They have several options and were able to measure me to make sure I had the right size.

    My seamstress actually told me a lot of brides go commando! So I think your thong is perfectly fine. I’m just wearing shapewear briefs that I got for modesty at alterations, I got them for $18 at Target.

    Thank you! I haven’t looked at Target, I started my search at VS but that’s a good call. With my legs being closer together in the dress, I worry about sweat and my thighs rubbing together lol such a dilemma

    This is super cropped so not the best but this is it! The back is similar to this as the customization was styled after this dress! The designer is Moonlight Bridal.

    I’m wearing nothing! Not into sexy pretty undergarments as my FH prefers naked lol plus they are so uncomfortable.
