What to wear under the dress

Addi, on March 27, 2021 at 12:40 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 13
Hey ladies, so I have seen a lot of people talking about what they’re wearing under the dress and I honestly didn’t even know you’re suppose to (other than underwear) and I’m honestly curious on what I’m suppose to wear under it (like shapewear, boob tape or other stuff) I’m truly lost with this and I feel kind of stupid about it 😅 (dress is not altered yet as to why it’s big in a few spots)What to wear under the dress 1

Ok first of all, your dress is gorgeous on you! And whatever you are wearing under the dress in the photos is perfect! Some people choose to wear shareware if they have problem areas they want to address (a belly they want to pull in, rolls they want to smooth, breasts that need a lift, etc), but you do not appear to have any need for any of this!

There’s nothing that you’re “supposed” to wear, it’s all about what makes you feel more comfortable in the dress. If the girls need a lift, try out a sticky bra or boob tape. If you wanna suck it in around the belly or gift your booty a lift, try some shape wear. I’m not suggesting that these are things you need, just options.

In order to keep your A line skirt pouffed out , not limp when the starch sizing the manufacturer puts in gets worn off, either your dress has a petticoat layer, or you need to buy one. What to wear under the dress 4

And sometimes those who feel their A line is too full, adding to hips and thighs, remove the petticoat that was sewn in, and substitute one with a thin layer, no net, just like thin silky panties, and begins actually widening at the knee, not as wide going down. A washable, thin nylon tricot slip is desirable if the crinoline netting petticoat is sewn in. It absorbs sweat and oils from your skin, and can be washed with detergent between wearings.
    What a beautiful gown!

I'm wearing a separates affair that I can strip off of I'm uncomfortable. I am wearing a white pirate skirt over white denim bermuda shorts with a white shirt that's comfortable t-shirt material with long lace bell sleeves under a white underbust corset. Every single piece is convertible. I'm wearing white Converse high tops for shoes. We're getting married at a beautiful pubic park under a 500 year old oak tree next to an ancient native temple mound on the water. It's outside and weather can be an issue, so I want to make sure I'm prepared to change as needed.

I am wearing that skirt that puffs out like the person posted above.
My seamstress sewed in bra cups
And I will wear my normal underwear. My mom had also suggested I wear a sticky boos tape thing, but I don’t know how I feel about that. I tried bras, corsets, etc I just personally didn’t like how they made me feel so stiff. Congrats!

What a stunning dress! You look SO beautiful in it. I agree with the others that it's really about what is going to make you comfortable with how the outside looks - so it would be common to wear things like shapewear or seamless underwear, strapless or tape bras, and petticoats to poof out the skirt.

My dress isn't altered yet so I've got what I THINK I want to wear underneath, but we'll have to see when the resizing is done!

For example, it's supposed to be quite cool when I get married so I wanted to wear fancy stockings and a suspender belt, but you might be able to see the boning of the waist of the suspender belt through, so I'd just wear stay ups. I also considered a corset but same issue. The back is too low for me to wear a bra as it stands, but I'm not overly happy with the cups in the dress, so I might wear tape, but it will depend how things look after the resizing is done. I have a hoop skirt to wear with my dress but it's not as big as I would like, so the alterations lady told me she's going to put tulle in so I don't need a separate petticoat.

On the plus side, the skirt is huge so I don't need seamless underwear, and have picked out a really pretty pair!
