What to use to keep tall floral displays sturdy?

Tina, on February 8, 2020 at 5:17 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14
Hi! Finished making my floral arrangements for the beginning of the ceremony aisle and at the altar. Shades of purples, ivory, and white. The vases will be on metal stands. I thought I had tons of glass stones but when I separated them between four vases this is how much I have. Do I get more? Or should they be fine? Any suggestions for anything to add inside the vase? I was also thinking fairy lights. Sorry for the messy backgrounds I have everything stored in my basement!

You could use a shorter vase, wrap with raffi or a ribbon, more filler. It looks bare in the middle.

My first thought was stones. That's what we do at work. But I definitely agree bigger stones or rocks might be needed.

Thank you! Will look for bigger stones. That’s 2lbs already in the vase. I don’t want to spend too much money so look for cheap bulk.

Try the dollar store for stones or other fill like water beads. Its looks a little odd with all the empty space

Since they are glass beads/rocks, the fairy light idea would be pretty. The lights would shine nicely through them, I think just add more rocks. Another thing you can try and do is find little blubs to hang inside it, kinda like this: I think it would still look good even though yours is a vase! Ps. love your flowers!!

I saw you had styrofoam under your plants, i would do little hooks and hang the string on them, or you can use see through string that will not be visible in your flowers and let them hang over and inside the flowers, you would need to tie the bulbs and place them inside first then put flowers back in vase
