What to put down for food

Rachel, on June 11, 2019 at 1:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
If I’m having BBQ and I know some of my guests are vegetarian what do I put with that for them to mark down. Just BBQ or pork? Or chicken?
Also, for when to have rsvps back do I put a month before?

You would need to have a vegetarian option for them. You will also need a line for dietary restrictions. RSVPs should be due a week or two before your caterer needs final numbers.

I'd just put "Vegetarian" as an option. If it's a buffet and they can take both options, you don't need to put chicken or pork. If they need to pick between the two, I'd just put chicken or pork. It doesn't need to be described. Our RSVPs were due 40 days out, our transportation needed a final count 30 days out.

I'd include a separate line on your RSVP card for the vegetarian option, if you're collecting entree selections in advance. Vegetarians don't eat chicken or pork, and if you already know you'll have vegetarians at your wedding I'd talk with your caterer about that now!

I am having a BBQ style buffet dinner and decided not to have a meal option on the invitations. I just put buffet style dinner to follow. I am planning on having a details card inside of the invitation with hotel accommodation info and plan to also put something about people who have food/drink allergies or restrictions (like under age, cant drink do to allergies) to put it on the bottom of the RSVP card or to call/text me and let me know.

RSVP deadlines are based off of when final numbers need to be in to your caterer. Ours is two weeks before so I made my RSVPs due a month before so I have time to track people down.
