What to print seating chart on?

Jane, on October 19, 2017 at 4:24 PM Posted in Style and Décor 6 21

I found a template on Etsy for a seating chart that I can download and then print. My question is, what can I print it on? I would ideally like to print it and stick it on the easel without framing it or anything. I read some people printed on a foam board but I'm not sure what that is. Is that something I can print it on at like Office Depot?

You can have it printed on canvas like it's a painting and then it could be easily put on an easel.

    Following!

You can use Zazzle, FYI! I found amazing seating charts on there. They'll print it on a poster for you.

You can buy a foam board from Office Depot, Staples, even Walmart. You could probably print out the seating chart and then tape or glue (inconspicuously) it on.

You could also probably talk to the Copy center at Staples/Office Depot and see if they have a way for you to print directly onto the board.

As the pp says, you can email it to Staples, Kinkos, They will print it. You can then use spray adhesive to mount it on a piece of foamboard. Foamboard is sort of like styrofoam (but different). They sell it at Staples, MIchaels, Jo Anns, even the dollar store.

If you ask a print shop (Kinko's, Staples, whatever) to print and mount it on foamcore, they should know what you're talking about. It's hard to DIY the mounting without the paper getting bubbled - I usually let the pros do it (I print a lot of posters for work).

I used Office Depot. I had mine printed two days before the wedding too. I bought a digital file on Etsy, uploaded it online on Office Depots website and selected to have it printed on canvas. When I got there to pick it up it was rolled up. I didn't know it but there "canvas" was similar to a banner that you hang. It was no issue. I explained that I needed it to be solid to display on an easel and right at the printing counter he had the board. One side of the board has a film that you peel off like a sticker. He put the canvas on there making sure it had no air bubble then used the cutting machine to cut the board to the exact size of the canvas. He did everything for me right there, there was no hassle on my part and it was exactly what I wanted/needed. From experience I would recommend it

We ordered a poster board from Costco. It's not super thin so it was sturdy enough to be held up by an easel. My dh uploaded the image and created the order online. It was ready for pick up the next day.

If your design is black and white, ask the Staples desk about their engineering prints. They're super inexpensive and can easily be attached to a foam poster board.

I'm looking to this right now for my seating chart and a couple of other signs and it's anywhere from $10-$60 depending on the place you print, whether it's printed on posterboard or regular poster paper, and how large it is. I'm having two 20x30 posters printed from printrunner.com and it'll cost me around $40 if I do the general shipping.

Yes, if it's printed on foam core/foam board.

It's also worthwhile to mention you can order your chart printed right on foam board from Vistaprint, and it's pretty inexpensive depending on how large you want it. (You can also order table/floor easels, though they're not very pretty.)
