What to do

Steph, on June 17, 2020 at 5:24 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 4
My state has gotten worse with the virus so just being realistic I think we are just going to have a church ceremony in October and possibly go to my moms house after (since she has a big backyard) and have a little get together after with whoever comes. I sent out save the dates in March. We invited just 90 people. What I’m wondering is where do I go from here with letting people know. Do I text ? Send invites? I’m just confused and it’s frustrating. I do want people to come but obviously it won’t be some big party after.

We emailed everyone and followed up with a postponement card in the mail. Both correspondence asked people to RSVP through our wedding website.

Do you still want the same group of people to come to the backyard event? If so, I would just send out an update of the new plans via email or your website.
If you are reducing the guest-size then I would suggest sending out an announcement that says something like this (this is what we said): "Due to covid-19 our wedding celebration cannot continue as originally planned. We do intend to marry on our original date with only immediate family present. We appreciate everyone's love and support during this time". Then just email/contact the people you want to be there that day and let them know the new plan.

Hi Steph! Once you feel like you've firmly decided I'd email everyone the new details, or send out an announcement with the new information!

Instead of sending a "change the date" is more of a "change of plans"! 💌
