What Time Should Our Ceremony Begin?

on June 5, 2019 at 9:29 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 12
Hi everyone. I am getting married late November and having a very small intimate wedding at South Padre Beach in Corpus. My fiance and I have not quite decided what time we should have our ceremony. Any positive advice would be great. What is the best time to start?

Do you want a morning, afternoon, or evening ceremony? What do you want to do for the reception? If the ceremony is during a mealtime, you should host an actual meal during the reception. If it's an off time you can do a cake and punch reception or some light hor d'oeuvres or something.

Definitely a cake and punch is the goal. Maybe some light sandwiches and fruit as well. Nothing fancy. What time would you reccomend?

I would do like 2pm or so. After lunch and before dinner.

Thank you so much. I was thinking somewhere around that ballpark as well.

We’re starting at 3:00 so I know we’ll be done with pictures before sunset. We’re late November also .

If that’s the case do a late morning (11 am) or early afternoon (1pm) wedding. Basically a brunch event (which is an idea that I originally planned for our wedding. But once the venue was selected, brunch didn’t fit. So I started over with ideas).

Ours will start at 5. Our cocktail hour will be 5:30-6:30 and our reception 6:30-11:00. It depends when it gets dark so I'd look up sunset time to make sure it isn't dark during your ceremony.

For a cake and punch reception your ceremony and reception need to fall between meal times, so I suggest starting the ceremony at 2 pm and ending the reception at 5 pm.
