I’d say an hour or even two hours before. This gives you time to get dress and also some time to yourself to mentally get prepared.

This depends. Will you be having a First Look or First Touch? Will you be having pictures of you and your spouse, wedding party, or family done before the ceremony?

Depends on a lot of factors but our photographer was super helpful in this area. He told me what time to tell them we should be ready by allowing about 30min-1 hour buffer in case they run late.

Daughter's hair and make-up were complete by 10:30 am for their 3:30 ceremony, with getting ready photos starting at 11 am and first look at 1:30. Her HMUA promised her hair and make-up would look perfect for 12+ hours -- and she was right. She still looked perfect at the end of the night.

I'd say definitely leave two hours at least. The hair and makeup will take a while and then the dress needs to be put on. There are always things happening that need to be worked around.

I think I had my hair and makeup person booked for 9 when my husband was turning up at 11 for the first look and pictures, and I was surprised that we only just made it!

My stylist was doing my mum and bridesmaid's makeup (just 1 bridesmaid), and both hair and makeup for me.

We started hair at 9 am (at the salon) and makeup began at 11 for a 6:00 wedding. I think the ladies started photos about 3:30 or 4.

We also started at 9:00am (at the salon), and we were done a little after 11:30am. My bridesmaids (3 of 4) and I had our hair and makeup done, and we shared/alternated between two makeup stylists and two hair stylists. We didn’t start taking photos until about 1:30pm and our ceremony started at 3:30pm. I’m glad we went early (as soon as the salon opened) as I didn’t feel rushed and we had time to make sure everything was how I wanted at both of our venues. We also were able to grab lunch.

We had ours finished two hours before the ceremony (possibly even a little more). It may depend a bit on the size of your bridal party.

We finished hair and makeup around 10am for our 2:30 ceremony. But we had it done at the salon. We had to drive to get ready, then to the ceremony site. We took pictures for about an hr and half before the ceremony (bride, groom, with our individual families, first look with dad).

If your stylist doesn’t know then talk to your photographer. We were done hair and makeup at 1pm for my 5pm ceremony time, but this was also to have a buffer for travel time. The photographer arrived at 2:30 and did getting ready photos, then a first look at 3:30, family photos done by 4:30.

Depends on how many people are getting a service. My wedding was at 5:30 pm and we started hair and make up at 9:30 am. I had 8 girls getting services. An hour is not nearly enough time.

If you're just asking when everyone needs to be finished, it depends on how far away you are from your ceremony venue, whether you're factoring in getting dressed to when you're "done," whether you're doing a first look/ touch, and how early you think your guests will arrive (if you don't want anyone to see you before the ceremony).

Yes, talk to your photographer. My thought is 90 mins before, but no more than 2 hours before. Regardless, your hair and makeup should be done last so it's the freshest. My MUA arrived at the hotel to do my bridesmaids' makeup, then she traveled with us to the venue (less than 20 minutes away) to do my makeup. The bridesmaids did their own hair. At the venue, one of the bridesmaids (she's one of my regular hairstylists) pinned my hairstyle while the MUA worked on me. We did a first look. We'd planned to also do the family photos but were running behind schedule so we pushed them to the cocktail hour.
