What time are/did you get your hair and makeup done before your wedding? What time are/did you get your hair and makeup done before your wedding? My bridesmaids and I are getting picked up at 3:30 PM and my stylist recommends that we all be ready by 2:00 PM so we have time for touch ups, to eat and anything last minute. She wants to get started at 9:00 AM. We are getting airbrush makeup that is supposed to last for 24 hours but does this seem too early?! I have very thin/fine hair and am worried about my hair going flat before the 5:00 PM ceremony. Unfortunately, getting ready at the venue is not an option due to space/lighting restrictions. HELP!

Future MrsGaskin, my MUA is spending 40 minutes on makeup for each girl and 40 minutes for hair. I will be the last one done, so I feel good about that but some of my bridesmaids will be done so early!

Interesting that a lot of brides posting here were done or are going to be done last. For all the weddings I've been in, the bride has been done first so the stylist can take her time, get it perfect, and not worry about running out of time.

Lexi, I would trust your professional-- it is very much in her best interests to have you look awesome, and I can't imagine she'd suggest it too early if she felt you'd look bad by the time your ceremony rollled around.

I think I have us starting around 10 or 11- I'm the only one who needs to be DONE by 3 when the photographer gets there- and then we are doing a first look at 3:15-3:30 and I go upstairs and "hide" at 4:30- and then ceremony at 5. The stylist/MUA can keep working from 3-4:30 on anyone else who isn't done- so they can get a slightly later start.

My hair/MUA suggested starting 2 hours before I'll be leaving for the ceremony. It's just me, no bridal party.

Hopefully the stylist knows what to do to keep your hair from going flat. I would say most updos don't go flat but if it's down you might have to layer on the hair spray and other products.

My ceremony starts at 6pm. I have 5 bridesmaids. My hair stylist is starting at 8:00 am and my make up artists ( I have two) are getting started around 10:00 am. We should be done around 1:30pm. We're going to take robe pictures at 2:00 pm, first look and bridal party pictures from 3-5 and drive from hotel to venue from 5:00-5:30.
