What Spirits to Serve?

mrswinteriscoming, on May 30, 2020 at 10:35 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
Hi brides

We are getting married later this year and will be having a full open bar serving spirits, wines, beers etc. We are allowed to supply 3 different spirits with no further charge.

We will definitely be serving vodka as well as scotch however I can’t decide on the third spirit! My friends have so far suggested either Gin or Rum (Tequila was an option but I don’t think we will go with it).
Should we do Rum or Gin? Or something else? Trying to gauge what’s the crowd favourite.

I would think rum is more popular overall than gin. Gin has a very distinct flavor and people either love it or hate it. Rum tends to be a bit more universal. I say this is as someone who actually likes gin too.

Based on what you know of your guests, what do they prefer to drink? No two groups are the same in what they like. As an example, some groups prefer bourbon/whiskey or tequila and wouldn't touch vodka or gin if that the was the only choice. So know what your crowd likes. Ask a handful of your guests if you aren't sure.

Rum is more popular than gin and can be mixed into a bigger variety of drinks.

I would also think rum would be more versatile. From a simple rum & Coke, to fancier tiki blended drinks.

Rum is much more versatile than gin, so I'd do with that, but if you have a lot of G&T lovers they'd definitely appreciate gin! If you don't have a big G&T crowd, I'd suggest rum.

I think rum will be the best option because it's an easy one to mix with almost anything
