What size wedding band should I buy?

bina1015, on March 3, 2015 at 4:13 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

I'm going to buy my wedding band soon and wasn't sure if I should be it the same size of my engagement ring. My ring size is 8 but got my ering size 8.5 because my fingers tend to swell from time to time.

Any suggestions on what size to get? 8 or 8.5?

Usually the band can be the same size as the ring, but if you want to be 100% sure, go in to your jeweler(or any jeweler, if you ordered online) and have your finger sized and ask them for advice. Most jewelers are willing to help out and give you advice, even if you didn't get the ring from them! =)

I dont really have any suggestions but I ordered my wedding band the same size as my ering and now my wedding band doesnt fit. I have to send it back to get it sized again. Thank goodness for the protection plan that makes it free.

Maybe try putting on two rings, in the sizes you are considering.

Depending on the shape of your finger, think about how wide the band will be and where it will sit when you're wearing both rings. I'll probably get my engagement ring sized up a quarter notch when I get my wedding band, and then get my band in the size my e-ring is now. The easiest thing would be to try on rings in those sizes!

It seems like it should be the same size as your engagement ring. It's the same finger and will sit where your engagement ring is currently. If the larger size is what's comfortable, go with that.

I am in the same boat as you. FH bought my e-ring and wedding band at the same time. I got the e-ring resized from an 8 to an 8.5 and am trying to figure out what size to make the wedding band. My fingers swell really bad at night, so I am leaning more toward having the wedding band resized to an 8.5 as well.

My wedding band is currently a 5 and e-ring as a 5.25. My e-ring is too loose at the moment but my jeweler asked for me to wait till after the wedding band is on before getting it resized smaller as he said sometimes with the wedding band the e-ring, when not attached to each other, will feel slightly tighter.

I would recommend to get to a jeweler to get their opinion, even if its not the jeweler you will purchase it from.
