I was supposed to have my wedding in Mexico on May 31. We decided this morning to postpone based on the latest 8 week no gathering CDC announcement and contract penalties that would go into effect next week. I sent out save the dates in August 2019 to make sure everyone had time to plan. Long story short, Corona virus has been giving me a headache for awhile now and I was unable to get my wedding 'official' invitations in January because they were being made in China. I was initially told it would be a short delay and would have them in early February. When they didn't come, I sent an email letting people we weren't able to get paper invites, followed by an a nice evite to the guests. I also had my planner call all of my guests to let them know what was going on.
My parents are older and more traditional and they insisted I order paper invitations that I didn't want anyway, despite not being able to get them by the deposit/original RSVP deadline. On Thursday I was fully intending on having my wedding and my invites arrived Friday. We assembled them Saturday, only thing missing was postage. What do I do with these invitations? Everything I've read thus far tells you what to do if you've already sent them or if you haven't ordered them yet. Should I send them with a note (saying what?). Does this mean I need to order a whole new set of invites for when we reschedule!?
