Send the save the dates 6 months before your wedding and then send the invites like 6-8 weeks before including the rsvp

Save the dates go out first! Can be as early as a year. Invites/RSVP cards go out together - usually 8-10 weeks before the wedding.

Your guests can't RSVP if they don't know they're invited.
Save the dates aren't a necessity unless you have lots of out of town guests, are having a destination wedding, getting married on a week day, or a holiday. If you do decide to send save the dates, they should be sent 6-8 months before the wedding.
Invitations should be sent 6-8 weeks before the wedding, the RSVP is included in that. Once your guests know they're invited, they can tell you whether or not they're attending.
