What name do you put on the return address if you aren't married yet?

I'm looking into ordering one of those return address stamps from Etsy for all our wedding mail going out but I'm not sure what names to put on it. Do I just put FH's last name and not our first names since he's technically the owner of the home it's coming from? Or can I just do both of our first...

I'm looking into ordering one of those return address stamps from Etsy for all our wedding mail going out but I'm not sure what names to put on it. Do I just put FH's last name and not our first names since he's technically the owner of the home it's coming from? Or can I just do both of our first names? I kind of want to get just his last name because I want to use it after we're married too. I could use the ones with just our first names afterwards but who doesn't love using their new last name as often as possible after you're finally married? lol Brides that are doing the same thing: how are you doing it? Thanks!

We did first names and I LOVE my stamp. It makes it so much easier!

@timeladyerika it's just for a return address label so there shouldn't be a problem. I sent 75 STDs with just our first names on the return address label and had 0 problems. I frequently get mail addressed to "current resident" so I'm not sure where you're getting this information from...

I bought a stamp with just DH's last name because I wanted one we could use again in the future.

We've just done both first names on all our pre-marriage return address labels and my apt address since I live alone and he lives at home with his family

I have this same question! I'm thinking of doing just first names?

We live together so "the Future Mr. and Mrs. Sasswood" went on ours.

We got one from Etsy and it's sooo cute! We had it say our first names and our address, no last name because I want to be able to use it after! Our names are large and in cursive so it looks appropriate without the last name!

We bought a stamp that just had out first names and the address. This way we can use it before and after the wedding

We did both my current name and his last name. But I hand wrote them because there weren't too many to do. If you want to use them after, I see no reason not to do his last name only and maybe both your initials.

I used mine, but my sister is using their first names only since they are already living together.

You can get deals on stamps that are really cute on Jane.com

I got one just our first names, though the reason for using it after the wedding doesn't apply to me - I'm not changing my name, and I'm not renewing my lease because we'll probably move after he graduates&we marry.

I just got one cause I didn't want to write a return address fifty million times lol

@BeachBride My best friend is a postmaster. Current resident implies that it is a non-essential piece of mail. And you're right, there may not be any problems. Let's say that you're getting a piece of returned mail. Now if your regular carrier is delivering they most likely will recognize your names and deliver it. However, if you don't have your regular carrier then they may not deliver it due to the last names not matching what is in the box. Like I previously stated, you may encounter zero problems. To avoid any problems, it is easier to use last names.

I'm thinking about doing this with his last name so we can keep using it?

FH doesn't see the point in a stamp...and im like 'okay so here's the thing...your handwriting sucks, my handwriting isn't good enough for formal mail, and do have it printed on the envelopes will be oike .30 per...so let's order that damn stamp for $20!'

We used first names. FYI ask the seller to use it and send a picture. Ours came out illegible. It was a mess. Get it at least 1.5 inches, 2 is better, if round.

We have them saying "future mr and mrs" - same as @emily! They are super cute and I get all giddy looking at my soon-to-be last name!

We lived together and just used first names before the wedding. Not sure if that is technically "proper" but I wasn't trying to be formal with addresses anyway.
