What length of veil looks best? (pic attached)

I’m trying to decide what length of veil would look best with my dress and I’m torn! My veil is going to be ivory bridal illusion with large black alencon lace trim. I’m accenting my dress in black, so black shoes, black bolero, and my jewelry has black accents as well. My dress does have a train, so a cathedral length trailing behind would frame me really nicely and I love the dramatic effect. I just worry that it’s a lot of fabric and may end up looking bulky? Plus it’s going to be more stuff I have to carry around for photos. On the other hand, I’m considering a fingertip veil because it would still be a flattering length and less fabric, easier to move around with but I don’t know if it would still complement the aesthetic I’m going for. I’m attaching a picture of my dress for reference. TIA!

I love the drama of the dress! I think a fingertip length veil would be most flattering. The black is going to be a huge statement piece so I think it might be a bit too much with the cathedral veil. Plus I think it would just be most flattering with that style dress!

This sounds really cool! For your bolero, are you going to wear a black leather jacket? I’ve seen that and it looks REALLY cool. Or are you going for a softer look?

I have a black lace bolero picked out to wear for the day, but I have considered picking up a new leather jacket to wear for photos with my dress! The one I had was very well-loved and worn out so I need a replacement anyway. And thank you for your input on the veil!

Can you post a pic of the back of your dress? With so many black accents, the fingertip might work perfectly. But if you want a long veil I think it’ll go with that dress.

I don’t have my own photo of the back but I found one on the Allure Bridal website. I’m also attaching a picture of my jewelry if that helps! I also probably should have mentioned I’m wearing my hair down in a romantic wavy style.

Wow, those a giant accent statements. And the back of the dress is stunning. I still think you could go with a black long or fingertip veil, but I would opt for sheer and probably raw edge no lace appliques anywhere. It might look like too much.

You’re so pretty!! Like a doll ❤️ I think fingertip with an angel/cascade cut to follow the shape of your dress would look lovely or go all out with a long train!
