What kinds of markers should we get for clear acrylic guest “board”?

Emma, on October 1, 2019 at 5:53 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 2
Instead of a traditional guestbook we’re getting a clear acrylic board and putting a vinyl decal on it of our monogram, names, and date in white. We’re going to have our guests sign it in light blue markers and we’re going to hang it up in our house. My question is, should we get chalkboard markers for people to sign or paint markers? And should they be oil based or some other kind of base? I’ve seen mixed recommendations online and don’t know what to do lol. Thanks in advance!!

    Hey Emma!

Would it be possible for you to do a bit of trial and error with this? As you have gotten a number of mixed reviews online, I think it would be best for you to test out exactly what works best for you.

I would definitely recommend also testing out a permanent Sharpie marker on your acrylic board. Depending on the surface, chalk and paint markers may run, drip or not dry immediately causing smudging. A permanent market will dry instantly and would mean that your guests won't have to wait for the previous message to dry before they write their own.
