So my FH wants to wear a navy suit at our wedding (more so because as an attorney, he will wear a suit MANY times again and is ALL about practicality). Hey WW friends!

My main question in this thread: What is your groom/groomsmen wearing??

So my FH wants to wear a navy suit at our wedding (more so because as an attorney, he will wear a suit MANY times again and is ALL about practicality). However MY brother, one of his groomsmen, has been trying to convince FH to wear grey suits..? FH truly could not care less and now is wondering if it is common for the groom to wear one color suit and the groomsmen to wear different color suits. I personally would really like some sort of coordination in the bridal party, but I ultimately want to let FH have the choice. I am really just happy he has an opinion about something he wants. However, I am not sure if I should just allow my brother to "convince" FH that it is a good idea, or if I should put my foot down and say "nope you can wear whatever color FH had decided on for himself".

My FH and the groomsmen are wearing tan suits, with dark green ties and pocket squares. My fiance will be wearing a long tie and the groomsmen will wear bow ties, so there's a slight difference.

I have seen many times the groom wearing a different color than the groomsman.. however, if you/FH don't want them to be different or grey then that decision is up to you! All of the guys in our wedding will be wearing navy - but the groomsmen will have a wine tie and FH's tie is navy

I think either is fine. My FH and all his groomsmen are wearing black tuxes but FH will have a black bow tie and black vest, and groomsmen’s bow ties and vests will be the color of the bridesmaid dresses.

Though we did consider having FH in a black tux and the groomsmen in gray tuxes. Decided against it because one of FH’s groomsmen hated the gray tuxes haha. Didn’t matter either way to me! The only thing I really cared about was having FH in all black and white, because I thought that me being in my white dress and him in black and white would look better for our bride/groom portraits.

Definitely go with what FH wants! It's his wedding, not your brothers! However, if FH wants to wear a different color suit, I think grey and navy would coordinate nicely together and personally would be fine with it. It's all about the look you want to accomplish!
