What is your flower girl/ring bearer carrying?

Mary, on July 30, 2014 at 11:06 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 15

I have two flower girls and 1 ring bearer. Because our wedding is strongly themed after Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit, the ring bearer is going to be dressed like the ring bearer, Frodo Baggins/Bilbo Baggins, and carrying a child's sword from the movie. The flower girls are going to wear a dark brown dresses and carrying firefly moss lanterns. It's going to be precious ;-)

^^ THIS is adorable! My flower girl is my 5 year old daughter who will be carrying a red woven basket with dried petals in it (from roses I had in the hospital when I had her that I've preserved) and my ring bearer is my roommate who will be wearing a button up white dress shirt opened to show her Wonder Woman t-shirt underneath and carrying a Marvel print pillow. Geek wedding.

My flower girl is carrying a floral kissing ball. Just substitute blush ribbon instead of lilac & blush roses for the lilac.

    That's so cute!

My two flower girls carried rose petals in baskets, and the ring bearer's pillow was made from H's grandma's dress.

My daughter is my flower girl. She is carrying a small pail I decorated, which fits in with my rustic theme. She will be tossing rose petals.

Our flowergirls are carrying upside down felt cowboy hats. Havent figured out the ring barer pillows yet.

ETA: I just found the perfect pic for ring barers. It's a horseshoe with a ribbon handle and fake rings tied to the ribbon dangling into the shoe.

I want to buy this pillow from David's because it would be an adorable keepsake for the house after the wedding. http://m.davidsbridal.com/mt/www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Personalized-printed-Burlap-Ring-Bearer-Pillow-DB88RP_Ceremony-Wedding-Ceremony-Ring-Bearer-Pillows

I bought an ivory flower girl basket from david's bridal and I'm still shopping for a ring bearer box - I would like to get an engraved silver box. It would make a nice keepsake opposed to a tiny ivory pillow lol.

My niece is carrying my bear that I've had for about 20 years. I sleep with it every night still :-) He's been everywhere with me!

Everyone's ideas are so unique I love it!!! Mine is so traditional but our church won't let the flower girls throw petals anymore so she is having a mini bouquet but in a small satin cream basket because I know she had her heart set on carrying a basket so she can just put the flowers in the basket at least.

We didn't have a flower girl.

Our ring bearer carried a small hollowed-out book, the same book that my husband hid my ring in to propose.

@Mary - I want to see pics of your wedding when it happens. Baddddd. I'm finding you to connect.

And my FG is just having a brown twiggy/wickery basket. My mom's hellbent on putting ribbons on it, so I might just give up that battle. Smiley smile

eta: (Oh jeez...I hope the "badddd" read as "I want to see your wedding bad" and not something negative!)

@Kay.. Let's connect! I read that in a positive way Smiley smile I'm not sure what you're theme/color scheme is, but what if you did something like this? A twig basket or twig ball and then put a very simple ribbon/flower combo? I didn't want ribbon on their twig ball because the FGs are going to have a dress full of tuelle.

Love those firefly lanterns, so cool! I made my FG basket, we had a casual beach wedding and I didn't want satin, which is the only thing I could find. David's Bridal baskets were so ugly. I went to Michaels, bought a basket, spray painted it white and hot glued some starfish on it. My FG had this kitten in her basket and didn't want to take it out for pics, I thought it was cute Smiley smile And a story I can tell her later in life.
