What is usually engraved on the toasting flutes?

I'm trying to decide what should be engraved on the toasting flutes for my husband and I. I'm ordering special flutes and a family member friend will be engraving, but what is the most modern wording, husband and wife, Bride and Groom, or our names with the date? I'm not sure which to choose. Also for the cake cutter, is that usually engraved also? and with the same wording?

I think it's really up to you. You can pretty much put whatever you want

I did: "My Name & HIs Name" and the wedding date under that. You can also put a design. I put rings.

You can do whatever you want. When I worked at a crystal store that did engraving, the most common thing people chose was the names of the bride and groom (or a monogram) and the wedding date.

We're not going to have ours engraved since we want to buy more flutes in that pattern so we have a full set.

We did "Mr. Smith" and "Mrs. Smith" with Valentine's Day 2014 underneath on each glass

We got Mr. Yocum and Mrs. Yocum and I think the date on our flutes. And our knife I think says Mr and Mrs Yocum and the date. It's entirely personal preference though.
