What is the standard time frame for RSVP return date?

Sherry, on December 23, 2014 at 1:53 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 17

Is there a set standard? None of my check off/planning list say anything about that. Wedding 7/11/2015, caterer doesn't need to know how many attendees until the week before but the linen company needs to know a month ahead for ordering the orange linens, any others I should take into consideration? What time frame did you use?

My planner said 5 weeks then that gives you a week to hunt down any RSVP's and give everyone a months notice.

I was just going to go with whatever vendor needs a count first then add an additional 2 weeks to hunt people down. So my wedding is 02/27/2016 and the venue needs a month notice so my RSVP date would be around 01/13/2016. I don't know if I'm doing that right or not, but it made sense to me lol

ETA : My caterer only needs a week notice which is why I'm using the venue instead.

My final RSVP date was slightly over 6 weeks out. We gave them 6 weeks to respond. I sent out the invites around halloween and the RSVP date was December 13th.

Our vendors need 4 weeks notice, so i gave rsvp date of 6 weeks, same reason as the other ladies, to hunt down the missing replies.

My venue asks for a head count two weeks prior, I asked to RSVP by three weeks before. I don't expect to have to hunt anyone down for a response though, since most of my guests are immediate family.

Our venue didn't ask for a final head count....they can hold up to 200 people and we will have between 100-130, but I would think they would want to know for the table/chair quantity since they set that part up, I will let them know at least a week in advance. Sounds like 6 weeks is a good bet and should give us plenty of time (hopefully). Thanks ladies!

I recommend giving guests at least 6 weeks to RSVP and 2 weeks to hunt down any strays.

Same date as you. I think I'm going to have the RSVP for June 5th. Canada Post is so slow that I'll give a week leeway, so after June 12th I'll hunt people down and maybe send them out the last week of April? I don't know what I'm doing either, but this seems like a good plan.

6 weeks. That gives me 2 weeks to track down late RSVPs and a month to get organized. You also need to know numbers so you know how many centerpieces, table assignments, favours, room spacing etc. You can't leave all of that to the last minute!

Our caterer needs final #s 2 weeks in advance so I am giving myself about 3 weeks so I have time to call if there's anyone who doesn't return their RSVP card. For our July 25 wedding I'm asking for the RSVPs by June 26th.

I'm sending mine out next week. My date is 3/1 (for those on mobile) and my RSVP date is 2/3. I have to have my numbers to the caterer 2.5 weeks before the wedding. Cutting it a little close but I didn't want them to get lost in the Christmas card rush - not necessarily the post office but people thinking it's just a Christmas card and putting it off.
