What is the best time to have your wedding?

LAQUITA , on August 12, 2019 at 9:44 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 25
I'm getting married on a Wednesday I have two young children in my wedding. My question is they have school that day. I wanted my wedding at 2 but one parent don't want to pull their child out of school early. So should I change the time to 4 or 5. Confused about this

That is going to be hard for that parent to get that child dressed, ready, fed, and present at your wedding on a Wednesday (school / work day) by 4 or 5. BUT that's not to say it can't be done. Is the parent working, or in the wedding? It will depend if the parent is able to pick the child up right after school or not, and get them to your wedding. If they can, then I'd say anywhere between 5 or 6 would probably be doable.

I would assume you'd have a better turn out with all guests, not just the children, if the wedding is not during work/school hours.

It’s probably already really inconvenient for your guests to attend a week day wedding, I would at least push it back as late as possible to make it a little easier on them.

Getting married on a Wednesday reminds me of Runaway Bride. Although her reason for it was so that NOBODY would attend her wedding lol.

That being said, if you actually want people to come to your wedding on a Wednesday, aside from close family, guest shouldn't be expected to take time off work (unless there is travel involved). I'd have to agree with the post above me, maybe try to push the ceremony to 5 or even 6PM.

I went to a Tuesday wedding once and it didn't start until 7pm because it was a weekday. Definitely made things interesting as no one wanted to drink or anything for work the next day. i am doing a Sunday wedding but its DW so everyone won't be traveling home until Tuesday.

I might have to do that but my church has Bible study on Wednesday nights. It's cheaper to get married on weekdays than weekends during peek season.

Keep in mind that a 2:00 wedding means people will also have to take time off work and may not be able to. I would have a 6 or 7 p.m. wedding if you want the best turnout.

We did a 5:30pm ceremony for our Thursday wedding. Granted, school hadn’t yet started but it worked out well.
The people who really want to be there will do everything they can to make it.

It'd be hard for a lot of people to make a 2pm wedding (due to limited PTO, etc). I think it'd be easier to start around 5:30! Then people could come right after work or just leave a few minutes early instead of a few hours.
