What is the average price for a DJ?

LanaKane, on May 22, 2017 at 11:08 AM Posted in Planning 0 41

We're having a Sunday morning wedding and i wanted to find out how much DJs normally cost? I got a couple of quotes which both i and my coworker thought were too high. Looking for input. Thanks

    I am paying $900 for 7 hours.

it includes all of his equipment, 2 microphones, lighting and speakers for our ceremony location.

Edit: I am in the Fresno, CA area. However, I have also been quoted around $1,400 for less than what my DJ is offering us.

All quotes I've seen so far (in philly/ny area) have been about $1600-$2000

This is going to vary wildly based on where you are located and exactly what services you are looking for. In my area it seemed to range from about $1,000 on the very low end to about $3,000 for a high end choice.

Los Angeles, 6 hours, I can't remember if it was $900 or $1000, but it was a steal in my opinion considering the vendor is highly recommended and most other vendors are $**** on average.

We're paying $1300 for 5 hours, dance floor lighting, and a lighted/animated monogram in PA. We received quotes from various DJs that were way lower and way higher...all depends what you're looking for. I think we found a good mix of quality and affordability.

I'm having a DW in FL. I am paying my guy 875 for the ceremony and reception. He's playing steel drums for the ceremony and cocktail hour as and then switching to DJ for the rest. ~5 hours total.

Where are you located? I feel like that is going to give you a better idea regionally or based on city. We've gotten quotes from 1-3K in the Chicagoland area for about 5 hours.

We're paying $650 for 5 hours and he's the best DJ in the area. The price definitely depends on your location

I have one (N. IL) for 5 hrs plus ceremony for $425. I bet since its a Sunday Morning wedding you can negotiate a lower price since its off peak time/day.

Ours is a little expensive at $2000, but they also include coordination services on top of DJ services, plus they had amazing reviews, so we decided it was worth the extra money. We're in Knoxville, TN.
