What is normal price for Long Island/NYC

Pszab, on June 2, 2016 at 11:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

What is considered to be an average or normal price for Long Island or nyc? I'm getting all of these prices but I don't know if 200/pp with everything is considered expensive for a middle class person ! Help?

I was searching. Chateau briand, fox hallow, wind watch, and venitian yacht club where all under 180 for 100 people including all taxes. Let me know if I can help with anything

While it wasn't for us, swan club was the cheapest venue we found in this area. They include a lot in their prices. It wasn't in our taste but it's popular for a reason. They do keep their grounds well and the ladies we toured with were great. I've never been there as a guest but we have friends who have. Apparently the food can be a hit or a miss. They do offer free tastings that you can schedule so you can try the food if you want.

Chateau Briand was affordable for us for a Thursday night wedding. Tons of apps for cocktail hour, 4 course meal with 10 entree selections and premium open bar. Plus pre-cocktails an hour before the ceremony begins. The ceremony fee is expensive, but the florals are included.

ETA: $200 is very expensive. For that, go to Oheka Castle.

    $200 is up there.

For LI, I was quoted $75 to $150 depending on the place and what they included

We looked at almost all of the venues on LI, no joke. A lot of them that are on the lower scale for the price range (Mansion @ Timber Point for example) was like $80 ++ per plate. We chose to go to GC Mansion that was $150/pp with just tax included. That is for a Friday night wedding. Also, not sure of your style (we loved the mansion feel rather than a traditional catering hall) but The Woodlands at Woodbury for a Friday night was $115++ .

All depends are what your style is, but just beware of the ++.. it starts to add up!

Have you looked at crest hollow? My brother paid about $100 a plate for a December wedding. I can't imagine them charging $200 for a June wedding. The food was awesome and it's really pretty.

We chose Jericho Terrace at $105 per person plus 6% service charge and 8.625% tax. it totaled roughly $121 per person. It includes cocktail hour with tons of food, top shelf liquor, martini bar with ice shute, 4 course dinner reception with 5 entree choices, 5 different wines to choose from at dinner, wedding cake, a bridal suite with 2 bridal attendants, and a DOC.

ETA: this is for a Saturday June wedding

I am using Antun's and it's less than $100 pp. I don't remember if fee and taxes are included but I can check that when I get home later.

Be aware of the Swan Club as they had a Norovirus break last week that caused 100 ppl to get sick.http://longisland.news12.com/news/dept-of-health-confirms-swan-club-outbreak-was-norovirus-1.11848375

Thank you everyone for your input!

Going to crest hollow, fox hollow, woodbury something i forgot lol, and swan club tomorrow. been to jericho terrace, giando on the water (bk), chateau briand, sand castle, and i think thats it so far. were looking for a place where we can also take amazing photos at. we went to the inn at new hyde park and fell inlove! BUT, the big but! it would total at about 200 pp saturday night in june... too pricey for us. Any recommendations on a location with a nice garden? we want to be able to just walk outside in a nice area if we want fresh air plus to work as a back drop for our photos.

@natalia: the price you listed does that include taxes and all the fees too?

@DA: when did you book jericho? we went there and the quoted us at much more than that... im assuming negotiated a little too?

I don't know when you ladies last looked but we didn't find anything for under $150 except ours, Stewart Manor. Fox Hollow offered $125 for an afternoon wedding on a Saturday. The grounds were nice but, the room I wanted was small. We chose Stewart Manor because they were most accommodating with price AND food. There's no grounds but your wedding isn't rotated and it rained on my wedding so I'm glad I didn't pay extra for a place with nicer grounds. You might like Westbury Gardens. They have nice flowers and supposedly peacocks. I don't like that you share the place with another party and the walls are thin.
