What is everyone having their Recessional Song?

BeckiO, on February 4, 2009 at 6:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

What are you using as your Recessional Song when you and your hubby walk back up the isle? I was thinking of either using Wynona Judd's version of the Elvis Presley song "Burning Love" since my hubby loves the movie "Lilo and Stich", if not using something Johnny Cash for him like "I Walk the Line" or "The Ring of Fire". I just don't know if either of those Johnny Cash songs are Wedding Appropriate, if not I'll have the DJ play them somewhere in the Reception for himSmiley smile

I know usually the songs are upbeat and peppy but I am doing Michelle Featherstone's "We are Man and Wife." I was going to do this for our first dance but that is the ONE thing that is his responsibility. He loves music and I told him to surprise me with the first dance song. "We are Man and Wife" is my little surprise to everyone. I just love the song and know most that attend haven't heard it before.

I may change my mind though but that is how I see it for now.

These days, pretty much anything is "wedding appropriate" if it's something you like! We had a couple use "Yeah!" by Usher as their recessional. Different, but it fit them! Smiley smile

The favorite recessional of all of our couples we've DJed has been "Ever Ever After" by Carrie Underwood. VERY VERY CUTE and happy talking about fairytale endings coming true as they walked out with huge smiles on their faces! I think that would go GREAT with your Cinderella theme also! Smiley smile

    Here's that song:

Squawkbox you always have the best suggestions. I think that is a great idea for a Cinderella wedding.

Squakbox thanks for mentioning that Carrie Underwood song. That would be extremely appropriate. I'll have to add it to my list of songs to make my CDs for my DJ. I would have never thought of that if it weren't for your wonderful suggestion. I know exactly what song you're talking about too since I watch the Disney Channel with my young son and love the movie EnchantedSmiley smile I think we'll save the other 3 for the Reception! Thank you so much again!

Has anyone ever used "Miracles Happen" by Myra from the movie "Princess Diaries" with Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews? That might be another song we might use too!

The "Ever, ever after" song by Carrie Underwood will be my ressional song and it would be perfect for your Cinderalla theme. I also LOVE the Miracle Happen song too. I thought about that one as well.

It's not set in stone yet but I wanted to walk back down the aisle to Elvis Presley's "a Little Less Conversation" I just love the song. And i think it's a good song for a wedding, listen to the words "a little less conversation a little more action..." that means get the hell over to the reception and start partying!!!

We're using "I'm a Believer" by Smashmouth. It fits us, and that is what's important. I think "Burning Love" is a great idea. Your music should mean something to you!

That was the same feel I thought of would happen if we played "Burning Love." I know I'll be fighting the urge to dance my way back up the isle with my husbandSmiley smile I thought it would be a good song that almost everyone would know even the little ones (if they see "Lilo & Stitch" or "The Gameplan"). I almost thought of using "Waiting for a Star to Fall" by Boy Meets Girl (the song played at the end in the Wedding Scene in "Three Men and a Little Lady").
