What is enough what is too much?

CountryBride, on November 24, 2020 at 5:42 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7

I am fortunate enough to be able to be getting married at a byob venue. It will be a hosted bar guests will not be paying for anything, in saying that r I don't know how much is too much to get I know that what we have for our menu is too much. I want variety as well as keeping costs down. the last two weddings I've been to was a cash bar and I was pregnant. so I didn't drink and just had soda. here is what we came up with critique is appreciated if you were a guest what would you want to drink. most of our guests are beer, shot drinkers

Ceremony Shot

It's a long standing tradition in my fiancé's family to have a shot at the ceremony it's supposed to bring good luck and our venue is allowing it , so we were thinking of having jack daniel's nips aka shooters for the ceremony.

Signature drinks

this would be mixed drinks one for bride one for groom

wine we are keeping it to 1 kind of red 1 kind of white

knowing our guests there is probably only 3 that drink wine

Beer we are thinking of keeping it to 3 kinds of beer

Champange we are not going to do this because no one drinks it

Pop have coke, pepsi dr pepper

Juice we are thinking of having lemonade

Tea we are thinking of having sweet tea and regular

Coffee we are having a huge dessert bar so coffee is a must will probably have it as a coffe station filled with

death wish coffee it's my fh favorite, sugar cubes, and creamer

and I was thinking of doing something good for the kids I was thinking of having an italian soda bar , my kids loves them and so does mostly everyone in my family

is this too much ? tell me honest opinions are welcomed. there are about 50 adults and 25 most likely will be coming

Everything sounds good. Pick one type of wine for 3 guests. Decide between Coke or Pepsi (they are similar enough) and offer a diet version. Offer a 7up/Sprite for mixers. The Italian sodas sound awesome! Do that and skip the lemonade/tea. Perfectly ok to skip the champagne and no one misses it.

The Italian soda bars sounds awesome. I'd cut the other sodas in this case. The traditional shot is nice and a fun way to join families. You could also do some virgin shots (soda water or juice) so that all your guests can participate. No Champagne is fine, personally it gives me a headache.

That sounds like a lot for a small-ish wedding. I would cut the tea, narrow it down to 1 type of wine, no champagne. I agree with the others about the soda.

Seems like a lot for such a small wedding.

At weddings, I always drink wine. So I would gravitate towards that. Definitely offer 1 red and 1 white. I think offering 2 beers would be enough. Maybe 1 light option and 1 craft option. A couple of soda's, tea, coffee, and water are always a must. As far as signature drinks, I think 2 is a plenty, though I am not a signature drink person. If you left those off, no one would notice or care.

Our venue lets us bring whatever alcohol we want. We supply the licensed bartender they pour it and supply mixers and garnishes. A liquor store by our venue does discounts and we can return whatever we dont use. So on my list is pretty much going to be set up to they can pick what they want. There would be 1 red 1 white wine. Tequila. Rum. Moonshine. Crown Apple. Vodka And Miller and Bud. This is for about 80 people max. We drink a decent amount so yeah. What is enough what is too much? 1
