What is a special thing you must have on your wedding day?

We’re having churros, as well as a live painter.

Mashed potato bar with ALL the fixings at the reception. 😂 FH has said for YEARS this has to happen, if nothing else. So we're doing it!

For my daughter it's the father/daughter dance. It will be to the Temptations 'My Girl'. He has been singing it to her all her life and this was the only thing that she planned/knew she was doing from the very beginning. (probably before FH was even thought of)

We had a reserved seat for my gma and had my florist “give” her some flowers for her seat with a little sign. when my mom first saw it she started balling and i have to admit so did i!

View Quoted Comment Both cake and dessert tables are fun! Compromise can definitely be tough though. I haven't started looking for my dress yet but I have a feeling I'll be the same way! I'm never a person to even dress up nice once in a while so I want to look like a queen on the day!

For me i have a 2 “must haves” that without I’ll be sad lol. First, It has to be bookish with fireplaces. The venue we chose is an old mansion and when you walk in you enter this beautiful library with a working fireplace. There’s 2 more working fireplaces and I’m implementing a lot of bookish stuff (but it’ll be little hints as opposed to actual books and whatnot). Technically me and my FH really got together because of Harry Potter, and he told me that his favorite thing about me when he met me was how much of a book nerd I am lol. Also, my family’s tartan and a piper have to be included! We are very proud of our Scottish heritage and we have some of our Scottish cousins flying In!

Hot chocolate bar for me & my FH wants a food truck outside for guests towards the end of the reception

My FH is adamant about our kids (ages 5, 11, 13) being in the wedding party. We've toyed with the idea of having a private wedding with just immediate family or even eloping instead of the larger wedding we were planning...but having all of them play a part in the wedding is "a must have" regardless of the ceremony type. He won't budge on it.....it's so sweet.

For me, very subtle "turtles" and "penguins" (to represent our pet names) somewhere, somehow, someway! Think hidden Mickeys.

We had a swordfight. Now, granted, DH and I are both actors, we're both trained in stage combat, and so are all of our friends. He and I have acted together, and he generally plays a Jerk Who Gets What's Coming To Him ... by ME. So, it was nice to "fight" our friends, as a team, instead of each other.

Huge hit, lots of applause, 150% us. (The best part is the people who did NOT believe that we would do it.)

A DJ, and along with that I want a sign leading to the reception that says “Meet us in the dance floor!” 💃🏻
