What Info goes on Reception Cards?

Marlene, on April 8, 2010 at 6:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

I have completely NO IDEA what goes on the Reception Card, yet I'm including one in my invite. LOL! I'm doing a Pocket Fold Invitation and will have 3 Inserts - Directions, Reception, and Rely Card. What should the Reception Card say? Should it also include info about the cocktail hour? Thanks!

Reception cards contain the info about the reception. It should have the address of the place it is being held, with directions or a map, and any other pertinent info, like if it is cocktail/ cake only.

You list when and where the reception is, including the cocktail hour:

    Cocktails 5 PM

    Dinner: 6 PM

    Dancing to follow

ours was was RSVP/Reception combo card it went like this:

Incase of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at LOCATION

    Dinner & Dancing to follow

    LOCATION

We are having the ceremony and reception(cocktails, dinner, dancing & cake) at the same place. Should I include the address again? I'm having separate directional/map cards and rsvp cards. What else can I include?

You dont need to include the address again if the ceremony and reception is at the same place. You could put "Reception immediately following ceremony", if that is the case. You could still give the time of the cocktail hour and dinner.

I am adding that we are serving appetizers, beer, and wine under the cocktail information so that my guests will know they can nibble before dinner. Also to let them know that there will be alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks available.
