Wedding money bag. WHAT in the world is a wedding money bag? The description says "Collect good fortune from your generous guests with our White Pearl Wedding Money Bag! This white satin drawstring bag has a white bow in the front and faux pearl accents. Your wedding guests want to wish you good luck, and this bridal money bag is an elegant way to hold on to it all."

Is that a thing??? I'm guessing that the "good luck," it is referring to is cash...

I'm guessing you all will agree with me that, if that is the case, this is incredibly tacky and rude... I can't imagine having a "money bag" sitting around expecting my guests to contribute...

UGH...

Has anyone seen something like this before? is this normal??? I'm hoping it's not..............

ETA to fix the link

It's just a purse really. Not like it is embroidered with 'give me money'- works for me if you like it.

Thanks for all the comments and cultural lessons! I had no idea that this was so common in Italian weddings.

It's cool to read how other cultures celebrate.

It's actually very cultural. In Italian families, this is a long standing tradition as guests bring money instead of tangible presents to place in "la borsa". I suppose outside of the Italian culture it might come across rude or tacky but coming from an Italian/Sicilian background, this is the norm.
