What if i picked the wrong dress????

Aisa, on October 5, 2019 at 6:59 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
I got engaged and literally the third dress I tried on I fell in love.
7 months later... now I'm thinking I might have been too quick to pick? I keep thinking I should have gotten a different silhouette, went to a few more shops, involved more friends.
Has anyone else felt this way? Does anyone else worry their FH won't like it?
I keep thinking I should go back and search for a different dress BUT I already spent $1000 on this one. It still has the TAG, and I do love it, but if it were "the one", wouldn't I be sure about it?

TONS of people have "Dress regret" on this forum. It's super common. Can we see a picture of you in the dress? What about it doesn't excite you anymore? Are you truly regretting your dress, or is it just that you're seeing a bunch of beautiful dresses on pinterest or on this site? Try to remember what you love about it. Maybe try it on again.

Having the tag attached won't matter to most bridal stores, but you can ask if they'll do an exchange or give you credit. I would ONLY look at other dresses if you can absolutely afford to get another one. I'd also bring the original with me to compare in real time if you choose to go this route.

I'd say that of the people who have dress regret on this site, roughly half of them get another dress, and the other half express how they fell in love with it again after the first round of alterations. Fit makes a gigantic difference.

    Hope this was helpful!

Totally normal. It could be dress envy rather than regret. For me I was always thinking "man those other kind of gowns are so pretty and detailed, what if mine is too simple etc" but when I look back at my dress I do actually love it.

Oh! And shows like SYTTD and popular media make finding "the one" a much more emotional and high stakes experience than reality. Don't be worried if you don't cry or get super emotional. It's the one if YOU feel special and confidant and beautiful.

Pinterest and people's comments. Everyone thought I'd buy this sexy, mermaid romantic gown and I ended up with a beaded organza ballgown. When I put it on, I feel beautiful and happy, but i can't help but wonder if i jumped the gun too fast, you know?
    Thanks for the suggestions!

Thank you! Yeah, my mom cried when I put this gorgeous gown on at the store, and because of that, I wanted to get that one, but it wasnt for ME. So I bought the dress I kept going to, and keep going to when I see it on the Davids website. I think like some others said, "dress envy" and the fact that what I thought would be a long and fun experience of shopping ended up taking only 90 minutes at a local shop. I feel like I was "too decisive", if that makes any sense.
