I think it’s dope for all of those who has pushed through and had virtual weddings (graduations, etc.) this year!!!! With all the this year has brought, there were many lessons that came from it and a much necessary need to slow the pace of things down to reflect. Having a virtual wedding shows you the support system you have and even at home and during a rough time like this, your loved ones will still make time for you to celebrate your next journey. It for sure is a blessing! Go all out and make sure everyone has their drinks in hand ready to toast! 🎉 Best of wishes to you guys! ❤️

Please be sure to write a review on that venue so other brides can beware! I understand everyone has to make money but surely they could have at least waived something, this is an unfair and uncertain time for us all- work together!!

I got engaged in Feb this year. We actually were able to get quite a bit planned but as things worsened around us I took a pause from planning. My date changed from April 10 to May 30, 2020, in hopes things will calm by May next year. Now, my planning mindset is to only book with vendors that have the ability to be flexible and provide refunds (at least 30 days prior to the event). This gives me the ability to plan and not be fearful of what next year holds. Either way we are getting married next year and we will see it as an "adventure" on how we will honor this milestone.

I will one day. Unfortunately they have $6,000 of our money right now until after November 7th of this year so I don't want to say anything negative until we have our money back.

We haven't either waiting a month and our Save the date went out in Feb prior to all this too. And I have family with same situation as you. I am sure it will all work out. People will be more understanding I hope if we have to size down the guest list come the actual date. Perhaps later we can do a family party in a year or two if it doesn't work out. We already have a plan if we aren't spending as much money on the wedding it will be good because we can pay off our house so much sooner. That is always a good thing too. I think I have a better outlook now. I think I shed a few tears and now I am not feeling upset now every time someone asks me what I am doing. I am confident we will do what is best and not personal if people don't come as I understand, but to the ones that do I am hoping my local family will come and they are the most important ones as I see them and are more involved in my life. We will see what happen in another month. I am getting married NOV 14 regardless. That makes me feel better about everything. Everything can and will be worked out in due time.

Wow, that’s awful. I’m sorry you guys are going through that. I’d see if they are taking any PPP money. Apparently if they are due to COVID they have to give you your money back. Our vendor did a 1k up charge that would be waived IF they aren’t able to accommodate our original wedding date which was Oct 2 of this year. We just changed it to Oct 1 of 2021 and said worse comes to worse we loose 1k and our family and friends are safe... but indoor dining has been suspended indefinitely for the time being so I don’t think we are going to end up paying that 1k fee.

My FH and I will have a small ceremony and a dinner with a photographer, wedding cake and a toast at the dinner ..less than 15 people will join us. I love intimate weddings and yes it’s saves a lot of money ❤️ Good luck on your decision I’m pretty sure it will be amazing whatever you do 🎉🎊

Close intimate ceremony followed by dinner instead of having my 200 person wedding. I got new wedding colors, new wedding dress, new everything but you know what I like this wedding... less money. I think we are going to call off our 2021 reception, I want to start saving for a house

My fiancé and I are now strongly considering splitting the wedding between our two states to make it so people travel less, guest count is down and we can still get somewhat of the wedding of our dreams.

Who would I find that out?

Also does it matter that a contract we signed in 2019 stated if we where to cancel they would keep $2,000 of our deposit.

That I don’t know. Maybe there is a list? That’s what I was told by some of our vendors. Maybe consulting with an attorney? Sorry I can’t be more help!

Fortunately, we haven't had to change anything in our planning, pre- pandemic we started planning a micro wedding for 5 guests.

Actually there is one change, we added a virtual element because we are not sure when we will be able to celebrate withour extended family and friends. we were hoping for a backyard party on our one year anniversary.
