Does it matter what color tux the father of the bride and groom wear? I have heard so many different things and I just don't know what is "right". My FI and his groomsmen are wearing navy blue tux. I think that the dad's should wear whatever color tux they want as long as they match the mothers....

This may be a really stupid question but I am having such a hard time deciding on what to tell the dads to get. HELP!

I asked our dads if they wanted to rent or if they wanted to wear a suit they already have. Both decided to rent tuxes. They wore the same grey tuxes as the groomsmen and groom, but different accessories. The dads had grey vests & bow ties, groomsmen had blue and groom had ivory.

Our dads are wearing the same tuxes as FH and the groomsmen. FH is wearing a champagne bowtie/vest. GM are wearing black long ties/vests and the dads in Champagne vests and long ties. They coordinate but don't match.

We aren't doing tuxes, just dress shirts. My dad is wearing pink, my FG and daughter is wearing mint green or teal depending on who you ask, FH is wearing black, and I don't know what the Bride and Grooms men are wearing. Pastel is our color scheme though so no set exact color.

I think they should be able to wear what they want.

Like others have stated a tux is acceptable, as well as a nice suit. Just make sure it's not a navy blue tux (jk - Father of the Bride refer).

No one needs to match. Fathers and Mothers can wear what they want; if you have a suggestion of what you'd like them in- tell them. If not, there's no code to what they wear.

FH and groomsmen will be in grey tuxes, and our dads will be in black tuxes. We suggested bow tie colors based on what dresses our mothers had picked out.

I asked my dad what he wanted to wear and he said he wanted to wear what the groomsmen were wearing. So that's what he'll be wearing.

My friends daughter is insisting he wear a purple tie to match her shoes. He hates purple. Any solutions?

The mother of the bride is wearing lime green. How will the purple tie look? Especially in the wedding photos? Lime green dress and hubby with purple tie???
