What food to serve?

Riot, on July 7, 2020 at 5:45 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10
Our venue fell through. Luckily, we had a back up plan.

But our original venue, we weren't going to be doing food.
Now, we've decided that we want to serve like finger foods. I was just looking for some ideas and see if something I didn't think of came up of what we could serve.

Do you mean ideas on what to serve?

you could just do stuff like finger foods such as cheese and crackers, or small pinwheels, or finger sandwiches, etc.

I would serve heavy apps like stuffed mushrooms, sliders, etc.

I didn't even think of sliders. I have vegan friends coming and I've been hyper focused on making sure they're included. That's a great idea!

Stuffed mushrooms would be good for your vegan friends or you could do eggplant Parmesan sliders?

You need to serve something regardless of the time of day. Have your favorite local restaurant cater. You do the same for the vegan guests too.

I think food is a big must, unless you're doing an absolutely short and sweet wedding that is literally just the ceremony and nothing more.

I would google some canapes that can be hand held - also depends I guess on whether you'll outsource food or make it yourself.

If doing it yourself you could do, in addition to the above, bruscetta on mini toasts, filled phyllo/filo cups, mini quiches/tarts, risotto balls etc.

We're making the food ourselves, which is why I'm asking. Before, it was going to be at a barcade and we were doing pizza. But now, it's at much more what I had actually wanted but didn't get to plan for, so food is being a last minute thought, but I don't want it to look like that. I was aiming for heavy appetizers, but what I was really unsure of.

I was looking for ideas as to what to serve. I have problems with going too big, and wanted ideas from others. Catering isn't something we want to do at this time.

How many guests do you expect, and what time of day is your wedding? This info would be helpful in providing food recommendations
