What exactly are Family Pictures?

I know after the ceremony people do family pictures, bridal party, and bride & groom. I was under the impression family pictures meant siblings, parents, and grandparents. Maybe nieces and nephews? I don't have any of those anyway. Is this correct? My mom said yes. I wasn't sure if it meant...

Would I be correct to then to do the older half siblings and their families then that my FH has? Or just the half siblings included?

Totally right! I honestly didn't even do my siblings even though we're VERY close. Here's why. My sisters were bridesmaids so they got pictures. My brother I'm closest with is in the Army and was deployed so couldn't make it. It felt silly to have "all" my siblings when they weren't all there and if I did have "all" my siblings it would have caused drama not to have my step sister who I do NOT get along with. So I just did parents and grandparents on my side and no one questioned it. We did my husband's siblings, but he has no grandparents and his mom has passed away, so he just has his dad and a brother and sister.

Outside of your immediate family - it's whatever you want to do and have time for!!

My husband and I both have really small families (27 people total - including aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.), so we decided to get a big group shot with everyone! It was easiest to do this immediately following the ceremony since everyone was already there, but we got our immediate family pictures done before the ceremony!

We did one large family group pic for each family. So 4 total. It took maybe 15 minutes after the ceremony because we had asked all our aunts/uncles/cousins a few weeks prior to stick around. It's nice having large family pics I think.

Then smaller pics with just siblings, parents, grandparents.
