What does your future with your fiancé look like in 5 years?

Gabriela, on June 19, 2019 at 11:11 AM

Posted in Married Life 44

I’m hoping my future hubby and I have traveled out of the country a few times. One of my goals for us in 5 years is to get our traveling on while we still can before we have kid. What about you? What goals or aspirations do you have that you hope for you and your future husband (or wife) in 5 years?...

BABIES! Just kidding, kind of Smiley smile Hopefully by 2024 our house is completely renovated (the downstairs took us 1 year - upstairs next - then finishing our basement), we have at least 1 baby if not 2, and we've traveled a few places (Hawaii this year for our honeymoon, Ireland next year with my family).

We hope to have my master's degree paid off, be looking for a new house (hopefully building our forever home), have baby #1, and take a big trip every year. So far our plan is Mexico this year (first year anniversary celebration), Jamaica next year (second year married), and Napa our third year. Take the fourth year off because we hope to be having a baby during that year and will have to save up H's vacation time so he can extend his paternity leave. Then for our fifth year we want to go to Europe!

In 5 years I hope FH and living our best life in NC with our children. We are wanting to start trying for a baby right after the wedding so if everything goes well we would have 1 or maybe 2 5 years from now. We've traveled a lot together during our relationship so our honeymoon will be our last hoorah sort of thing for a while just because of wanting children already.

I love this question because it makes me feel so excited for the future.

A goal of ours is to buy a house so as soon as the wedding is over we are spending a few months paying off debt then spending all of next year and at least part of if not all of 2021 continuing to save then buying a new house. We sat down and made this an immediate goal because we do not want to have children until we own a house but don't want to wait a really long time to have children either. We're 22 now so the goal is kids & a house before 25.

Along with that, I will be continuing to go to school so he will be years into his career and I will be a year or two into my career as a special education teacher in 5 years. Smiley smile

In about 5 years we plan move to a smaller town in a house with more property for our dogs. We are getting tired of the city life. Once we get that property, we will probably get more dogs. lol. Our other goal is to save as much money as we possibly can.

In the next 5 years I hope for me to graduate with my PsyD and become a licensed psychologist. We hope to buy a house and settle down, and we hope to at least get pregnant with baby number 1 (of 2) within that time frame.

We are planning to have moved somewhere much warmer (maybe even out of the country if it ends up being viable) & started having children within the next five years. FH wants to hopefully be making enough $$ that I could be a stay-at-home mom too (which I'd love to do if we can)

Kids Kids Kids hopefully. I have some things that I personally want to do, like travel. FH has some things he personally wants to do, like rebuilding 2 trucks we have. Around March 2021 we will probably start trying for a baby. I'd like to have decided if we are going to move or not in the next 5 years. We live in his childhood home and the location and yard is amazing but the house itself has the worst layout, is old, and not ideal for me personally. It needs a lot of upgrading and it's a lot of maintenance to have an older house.

No kids for us, but lots of traveling! Spain later this year, probably Idaho next spring, Japan in 2021!

We bought a house almost 2 years ago, and it doesn't need a ton, but hopefully we'll get the AC upgraded, and the basement fixed up.

In the shorter term, hoping hubby gets a new job closer to home soon, so he doesn't have this stupid hour+ commute each way anymore, and we get some time back in our day-to-day lives.

    I like this post topic!
We will hopefully enjoy a beautiful life together & appreciate every moment of it 🤗
We have a home, we have a dog, we have no debt, we’ve travelled all around the world & will continue to do so, so goal is really to focus on present & continue growing as a couple.
We will have a baby if it happens & I will work on my startup. We are talking of possibly moving to CA in few years, to enjoy more relaxed lifestyle in nature. And our big goal is to get more involved in charity work to support causes we are passionate about.

This is a great question, nice and different.

    Present - 5 Years:

    - Buy House (1.5 more years of saving than we can begin looking)

    - Buy at least one new vehicle (we hope his car lasts until we can, ha!)

    - After we buy house make it our own (I'm getting that special double oven, and super awesome organized refrigerator. Smiley heart )

    - Go on vacation at least twice (doesn't including camping trips)

    - Possibly be ready for the knowing conclusion that our oldest niece will want to move in with us when she turns 18, ha! So ensure our new house has at least one extra room we don't have plans for.
