What does your future with your fiancé look like in 5 years?

Gabriela, on June 19, 2019 at 11:11 AM Posted in Married Life 0 44
I’m hoping my future hubby and I have traveled out of the country a few times. One of my goals for us in 5 years is to get our traveling on while we still can before we have kid.

What about you? What goals or aspirations do you have that you hope for you and your future husband (or wife) in 5 years?

We plan to buy a house next year, or at least start the process. We already have kids, so traveling is out of the question for us.

We'll be traveling out of country for our honeymoon so we'll get one of my "wants" crossed off. FH isn't a big out of country traveler so the only other places I could maybe convince him to go is Africa and Australia which probably won't happen for a long time anyway!

We want to update a few more areas of our home and then hopefully by summer of 2021 we can start trying for a baby!

I have no idea and I like it that way. I'm looking for a new job that will likely take us away from our current city. FH wants to change careers. We want to pay off debt, maybe travel. I'm 36 and FH is 43, so I dunno if kids will happen or not. We're both kinda indifferent right now, so who knows...

The plan as of now is... Move out to the country, work our land and get a bit of a farmstead up and running, have kids (goats or children - you decide Smiley winking ), and become part of our community. We're moving to a place where we'll put down roots and hopefully stay forever. We're in it for the long haul and we look forward to seeing how we will become part of the town, make friends with neighbors, and contribute to the community. FH is a first responder and is looking forward to doing that. Me, I'm excited about digging into the ground and hopefully doing some writing as well.

Of course we want to continue to travel (we are big travelers since I have unlimited PTO and he is a tattoo artist). After our big day we will begin to house search (we already live together but in an apartment). We really want a bungalow in Atlanta, my dream! Reason why we are doing away with a wedding registry and starting a house fund for ppl to contribute to. At the end of those 5 years, consider trying to conceive (I have mixed feelings about babies).

We will be traveling to Europe at least once in the first year, we will eventually get a house or condo. If we get a condo first, it'll be temporary and we'll rent it out once we but a house.

I'll hopefully be in school, and fluent in french. I'm moving from the US to Québec.

We will hopefully have started a family in the first 1-2 years. We're on our early 30s so it's a high priority for us.

Oh, and we've had a date planned since two years ago (when we started dating) for April 8, 2024 to go hiking to be on top of a mountain for the solar eclipse that'll be a total eclipse in our part of the world!

International travel, kids, and a bigger house one day. Other than that, love and appreciate the present.

Within the next 5 years, we plan on having (a) kid/kids and buying our first home. Then hopefully in the next 10, we'd be doing family travel/vacations. I guess we'll see what happens when we get there. Even if it doesn't happen in that specific time frame, as long as it ends up happening, we'll be happy!!

Well after our wedding, we plan to go on our honeymoon in Europe (probably France and Italy). We are also hoping to buy a new house late next year or in 2021. We are getting another dog next year or the year after, as well as some reptile friends, hopefully anoles. We also will hopefully have at least one human child in 5 years!

Kids Smiley smile in January 2021, my work will begin doing paid maternity leave, so I told my fiance that's our year to start trying!

We also have a goal to finish paying off my student loan after our first year of marriage. He thinks we can live off his paycheck for a year and mine will 100% go into paying it off every time....we will see how that goes lol

Other than that, hopefully more traveling!

We really don't know. Hopefully some travel. Hopefully we get a dog. We'd like to get a house eventually but we both still have student loans we're paying off so I wouldn't be surprised if it takes us more than 5 years to save up enough for a house.

I would like to finish my Bachelors and he would like to finish trade school. We want to start trying for kids in about four years. A house is maybe an option but we probably won’t be able to afford it for another 6 or 7 years.

I’m hoping we will have a 4 year old ( 7weeks pregnant right now) and maybe another one on the way? I’m hoping we build the house we’ve been talking about for 2 years now and I’m hoping I’m well set in my job

We're both huge Alabama football games, so each fall will consist of traveling to games. I own a condo that FH will be moving into after we're married, but we want to buy a house in 2-3 years. We LOVE traveling so we'll be doing a lot of that! 5 years from now, we'll have our first "real anniversary" (we're getting married on Leap Day) so we're going to do a big vacation then... I really want to go to Australia so maybe we'll do that in 2024. We plan to start having kids 2-3 years after we're married!
