What do you share on social media?

Do you post about your wedding planning progress in social media? Or do you keep it all private? I get excited so I post sometimes (wedding is I. July and I’ve posted twice about it thus far), but I don’t know if that’ll create complications because obviously not everyone on social media will be...

I get excited so I post sometimes (wedding is I. July and I’ve posted twice about it thus far), but I don’t know if that’ll create complications because obviously not everyone on social media will be invited to the wedding.

I made a Facebook group for those invited to my wedding. Lately I’ve been posting on there a couple times a week because my wedding is next Sunday and is a destination wedding. So I’ve been using it to make sure I get any additional travel info out and anything else I think is relevant. But I still don’t post details about how my day will be. I do it more so they can have the best time possible aside from my wedding.

I haven't posted anything because of that exactly-people thinking they are invited when they aren't. I did post my engagement but nothing about the planning or venues unless its in person and the person I'm telling is invited.

Exactly! I’ll talk to coworkers about it but it’s common knowledge there that they are not invited (the coworker I typically talk to 1. Got married recently as well and I wasn’t invited to hers and 2. Is moving to SC before my wedding)

I posted very little. If I needed to vent or be excited about something, I either messaged people, or came here.

I didn't want to create more drama than my family was already throwing, didn't want unsolicited opinions, and just... didn't want to be That Person Getting Married.

We had a fun dress-buying trip, so that went on social media, the wedding shower did, engagement pictures... that kind of thing. Sometimes I'd vaguebook, but rarely (on the day the priest said no, I lost my checkbook, and my period came early... yeah, I vaguebooked that one HARD).
