What do we call the person walking the Groom down the aisle?

Kelsey, on January 24, 2024 at 10:45 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 1 4

Hi friends,

My fiancé's mother passed away in 2022. He has chosen to have his best friend's (the best man) mother walk him down the aisle. I am curious on what we should call her? I have seen escort, but I am not sure I like the way that sounds.

Any and all ideas are appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

Escort is the proper term as far as I'm aware

You don't need to give her a special title. If you're having programs, I'd just include her name in the processional.

How sweet! HIs friend's mom must be so touched to be included. I think I d just use her name if you feel further explanation is needed I d say her name followed by a dear family friend. Congrats to you!

We just felt like "Groom's Escort" had a strange ring to it. We have decided to go with "Honorary Mother of the Groom"
