Everyone got to see the couple cut the cake. Not just the 10 people that heard the announcement and cared enough to walk over to the table.

The cake was taken to the back to be cut and served after dinner. From what I heard people stayed late at the wedding because the DJ was a blast and kept the dancing people wanting to stay. Not because the bride and groom were bribing people with cake Smiley smile

We're cutting the cake first then going into our first dance. Our wedding coordinator recommended this, so that they could get the cake pieces plated and the plates decorated as soon as possible.

Since we aren't serving dinner at our afternoon reception after our intimate ceremony, I think we'll probably do a grand entrance, introductions and then cake cutting - since I want my guests to enjoy our cupcake buffet the whole time. I think we'll also have fruit/veggie/meat trays so everyone won't be on a sugar high...

What you want I would think. But it seems logical to me to do the cake cutting later in the evening, after the meal. But that's me.

I think for us, we will have the 'grand entrance', then we will have our 1st dance, following that I think should be dinner, then father/daughter & Mother/son dance, then invite everyone else to dance too, then at some point do the cake cutting, and bouqet and garter toss. not too sure, we have time, but I imagine it will be something like that.

Hey date twin - I see a lot of people say to hold the cake till close to the end but when I started asking people what they hate about weddings its that they don't get to the cake or its too late, or people are dancing. Because of that we are doing dinner then IMMEDIATELY cake - then toasts, dances then party. :-) Good Luck
