What colors go with green camo table cloths? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Heather , on April 15, 2018 at 3:42 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 38
So my centerpieces are yellow sunflowers i was going to do blue table cloths from dollar tree and blue plates and cups from family dollar
I wanted to know what this would look like so i did a little mock table on my moms table set it all up and i took pics of it
I showed them to my fh
Ive been trying to keep him in the loop i pick something then asks if he approves
He suggests we do green camo table cloths cause hes into hunting and im wearing a pink camo dress hes grren camo tux
Green camo table cloths exist??
Apparently they do
He found 3 of them...said we can get more

So now our tables are going to be green camo, sunflowers and what colors of plates or cups will go with that?? I was thinking orange...if i can find orange ones because orange is the other popular hunting color

And if hes wearing green so i wonder if he will blend in too much with his cloths and the table cloths?

So mayne i should either do all tables camo or vary it and do half the tables green camo half our tables blue

Green, yellow, orange and blue are far too many colors to try and coordinate. If you are using camo table cloths, put them on all the tables. Use the sun flowers for centerpieces, but not orange cups and plates. That's far too jarring to be tasteful. I don't care if they do it in hunting. It's a wedding, not a hunt. Use black cups and plates or gray or even off white.

If he blends in then the camo is working! Hahaha. I'd think that the colors the bride and groom wear should be different from decorations. My decorations are green burgundy and brown pine cones yet I'm wearing white and Fh is wearing black. Boy aren't the best at decorating but if it were me I would honestly say away and do something simple for tablecloths

I think this is too many colours going on, I'd stick to a neutral for plates etc

I feel like this will be a lot of colors going on. I would use the same color tablecloths for all tables.

This is going to be too much. Stick with one tablecloth for all tables, and stick with a neutral color for cups, plates, napkins.

Wow this is way too much, as others have said.
Be careful not to over-do your camo theme; as with any theme, if you donโ€™t do it right, it will just look like a kidโ€™s birthday party.

I would stay away from all that, I don't think it will look well to be tasteful IMO. Do solids with your table covers and incorporate the hunting theme with your centerpieces. I got a few pics for inspiration for you! Hope it helps!!

Have you considered using antlers somehow in your centerpieces? It would go well with a hunting theme... Blaze orange plates sound fun, but silver might be a nice contrast to camo.

Yes! The photos that @Monica shared are really good, classy examples of a hunting theme. Maybe you should consider something like that.

Too many colors make it difficult to be cohesive. Stick to a cream in regards to dishes to tie it all together. If you can, do clear glasses for the cups and vases to keep it cohesive.

You could throw some baby's breath (or other small white flower) into your sunflowers to help balance out the vibrancy. If you're doing bows on your chairs, earthy colors would look nice. Twine would be cool, maybe with a sunflower stuck into it - use twine around the vases/bouquets for something pretty and neutral too, if you'd like! Put your centerpieces on a cut of tree trunk!

If you want to do camo, I would sooner pair it with a forest vibe - lots of greenery and wood accents. Maybe some scrubbed gold if you want to get fancy. Twinkling light too.

I definitely think this is too much. That's going to overpower everything else. I would let him know a neutral table cloth would work best - if he does not like the blue suggest a neutral tone like white or cream.

I agree - either you or he should directly match the decorations

What about an olive green tablecloth instead? Same idea, but not quite so... not sure on the wording. Still camo-esque. With khaki or other neutrals.

Iโ€™m trying to put this nicely, but this is WAY too much. Itโ€™s going to end up looking like Mama Juneโ€™s commitment ceremony on Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo, and there was nothing even slightly elegant about that.
Camo attire is already way too much IMO but if youโ€™re committed to that then do it. But that means youโ€™ll need to scale WAY back on everything else and just do neutrals, or itโ€™s going to end up as โ€œcamo done wrong.โ€
Weโ€™ve also commented on your other posts that this wedding seems to be very much about your FH and his love of hunting and not about you. If he wants to wear camo then fine but that doesnโ€™t mean you have to turn down a more traditional white dress to wear it too if YOU donโ€™t want to. The wedding decor canโ€™t be all about him.

Ive seen other ppl do camo attire at their wedding in their clothes
Even if it doesnt appeal to you doesmt mean that i dont like it
Yes the theme is hunting but i picked it because its cute
And most of the things ive picked were my ideas and not his
The only things hes said about the wedding was the camo attire, he suggested these table cloths and picked one song

I would put my foot down on the camo tablecloths on the grounds that you are wearing camo. That's complete overkill. Blue tabelcoths with sunflowers sounds delightful. It will look elegant and bright, which is perfect for a wedding. If your FH must have a hunting element on the table, you could incorporate antlers with the sunflowers (like in the above images). That would look classy and still fit the hunting theme.

If your FH is completely against the blue, then I think Daria's idea would be a great compromise. I could even see doing the opposite - cream tablecloths with olive green tableware. You could still get away with the sunflowers in either of the scenarios.

I have to agree with Janice, though. You mention you are wearing camo and planning camo tablecloths because your FH likes hunting. Do you like hunting? It's completely okay to tell the person you want to spend the rest of your life with that you want your wedding to reflect both of your interests. Marriage is about compromise, not going along with whatever your husband says.

Heather, if thatโ€™s what YOU want, then go for it. But again based on past posts and even now, thatโ€™s what HE wants you to wear.

That is a lot going on. If you are wanting to incorporate camo into your wedding you could maybe do a hunter tablecloth and camo runner?
I attached some tasteful ways to incorporate the camo without looking like a child's birthday party
