What color should the men wear?

Haley, on November 19, 2022 at 11:53 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

My fiancé and I's "special colors" are green and orange. We've fudged that to "emerald and rust" in the interest of not looking tacky. These are what my bridesmaids will be wearing, with my two MOHs in the dark emerald, and I'll naturally be in white/cream.

My fiancé would like to wear an emerald suit, as close to the MOH colors as we can find. But what do the groomsmen, fathers, and ushers wear? What color of vests, ties, and pocket squares do they all wear? I'm having a hard time imagining it and coming up with a combo that would coordinate well with the vibrant dresses.

Your colors are beautiful. Personally, I'd have all the men in black, including your fiance. I would have my fiance to wear ivory tie, vest and pocket square. The groomsmen can then wear the colors with the best man matching the moh. Hope this helps.

I agree with Michele! I think honestly that having all the men in black will help create a more cohesive look- you could then match ties and/or pocket squares to wedding colors. That being said, I don't think there's any reason that your fiancé has to do the same. My fiancé is going to wear this gorgeous dark teal color while all the other groomsmen are in light grey.

I'd have the men in charcoal gray and wear vests that match the existing dress colors

There are green suits available. Maybe then gray for the groomsmen.

Oh wow, your dresses are beautiful and I love your color palette. As far the groomsmen go I stick to black. Grey might work too but I can't picture it. Happy planningSmiley heart

I would do black or charcoal grey and match with ties or flowers to the bridesmaids. I dont have all of our photos yet so this is the best I have of all of us to show. But my husband wore a deep burgundy and the bridesmaids terracotta. So the groomsmen wore charcoal grey and their flowers and ties matched our bridesmaids. I personally didn’t want any of the wedding party in black but it’s all a personal preference. We let our dads wear whatever they wanted even though they walked in our ceremony so his dad wore charcoal grey and my dad and stepdad wore black What color should the men wear? 2

I would put all the guys (including your fiance) in charcoal grey. Your fiance should have a tie, vest and pocket square that matches you and not the MOH as he is marrying you and not her. The rest of the guys should match up with the girl they are paired up with. When we went to rent the tuxedos our wedding the girl that helped us was great at helping us pick colors and styles.

I think grey/ charcoal/ black suits or tuxes would be a good choice and then the groomsmen could have a bowtie/ vest/ pocket square that coordinates with whichever bridesmaid they'd be escorting down the aisle. Even if they won't be escorting, having one groomsman match a bridesmaid would be a good way to work in all your colors cohesively.
