What can replace a Bridal shower??.Need ideas please.

All Smiles, on April 2, 2013 at 7:44 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

Hi ladies in one of my previous posts I have mentioned that my MOH wanted to throw me a shower but I really didn't think it was necessary since FH and I have lived together for some years now and we have what we need or can get them ourselves. But now I feel left out like I'm missing out on an experience since this is my 1st wedding. I wanted to know if there's any replacement party ideas for bridal showers. I am not looking for gifts, just a nice get together with family and friends. By the way I didn't have an engagement party either.

Yupp! I think its super duper weird to open a ton of guests in front of people so I'm having a 'Bridal Tea' all the ladies are coming and asked to wear a big floppy hat and we will just have tea/mimosas/and little finger sandwiches, asking for no gifts but for everyone to bring their best recipe Smiley smile

Oh my goodness @Fireworks why did Alice and the Wonderland popped in my head Lol.

I love the tea idea and it's funny because my MOH had mentioned a tea party last year.

Everyone could go get manis/pedis together and go to lunch after?

Or maybe a "girls movie night" where you watch Bridesmaids or some other chick flick with lots of desserts and/or wine involved?

    Spa day?

Brunch at someone's house and everyone could bring a favorite recipe?

I've heard of recipe exchange showers where guests make something and bring the recipe to give you. Usually the recipe card is with the invite so you start a recipe collection for your married life.

Along with the recipe, maybe they could bring one of the dry ingredients and you could donate them to a local food bank.
