What are your "must have" shots?

Sarah, on January 17, 2020 at 9:03 PM Posted in Planning 1 6

I know a lot of people give their photographers a list of "must have" photos/shots – what pictures are on your list? Aside from the obvious things like the first look, first kiss, etc. I need inspiration!

We are doing a “dip” kiss and a “trophy” shot because we are cheesy romantics. What are your "must have" shots? 1

Most of my "must haves" are about particular people. I want to make sure I get at least one good shot of us with my auntie, who lives hundreds of miles away, so I don't get to see her often. I am looking forward to having professional shots of me with my family members and my new husband! I don't have much family left, so they are all precious to me.

I love these! We did a dip shot in one of our engagement photos. It was really fun! That's one of my favorite shots. We'll have to repeat it for the wedding.

Our photographer gave us this as homework. Im fairly excited to have some of my larger plants (minimum 3'x4') professionally photographed since I struggle with that and they will be there. Since our venue is in walking distance to the ocean, I was thinking maybe we could stand in the shoreline and do something cute like idk light splashes or something. I really want to find some nearby woods and explore it; since thats literally how we spend 40% of our dates.

We briefly chatted with our photographer about the "standard wedding shots" he assumed he'd take. But we also had a few special requests (especially since we had a 2nd shooter for 90 minutes):

    1) Candid and posed guest photos--we wanted to have memories of our nearest and dearest, and wanted to send them a Dropbox link after the wedding so they too could enjoy professional photos of them not just of us.

    2) Photos of our incredible venue--interior decor shots we could use as artsy canvas prints in our home, and interior shots because we LOVED our venue and wanted to capture even the weather of the day--it rained which added to the magic. Plus, we wanted some non-people photos we could have of landscapes but would be very meaningful to us. So happy we asked for these! Here are a few of my favs:
