What are your Mother/son dance songs?

Tori, on August 22, 2018 at 11:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

My FH is having a super hard time picking one out. He doesn't want the typical song everyone chooses either. I wanted to see what others picked for some new ideas, besides the lists I can google.

We've also been discussing this and have came up with
    Simple man- skynyrd skynyrd
    My wish- rascal flats
You raise me up- Josh groban
Bridge over troubled water- elvis version ( I love this song but not sure for this purpose).
The song I'm dancing to with my son as I've been a single mom up til now for all 8 yrs of his life is "you're gonna be" by Reba

I love that! My FH is a music NERD, so he is having the hardest time figuring it out. I mentioned that one and he said no lol. My father/daughter was easy. I had that picked out 4 or 5 years ago haha

I see. Hmmm, is there a song that he and his mother both really like? A common favorite song would make sense. It doesn't necessarily have to say anything about sons and mothers. Smiley smile Smiley laugh

Both his mom and himself have been thinking it over. We have lots of time, but this is literally the only reception song we haven't figured out yet so my OCD'ness is in overdrive lol

My FH let his mother pick so she ended up picking Michael Buble's version of "You've Got a Friend In Me" as a nod to his childhood (he loves Toy Story) and how she feels about their relationship. I think it's really sweet.

FH and his mom are using a song called I'll Let You Go by Jessica Alossery- if he's into acoustic music at all it's a pretty obscure song not a lot of people know about, but it's GORGEOUS.

My FH just played me the song he chose for his mother/son dance and I cried and he cried! It's "You are my sunshine" by Jasmine Thompson. She is an amazing singer and does a lot of covers, it's a beautiful modern cover.

My FH's mom used to sing this song to him and hold him when he was little. His middle name is Ray, as in Ray of sunshine because he is her ray sunshine. If he were a girl she would have named him sunshine. Can they get any cuter! It's really intimate and beautiful and just for them. I can't wait to see the tears flow Smiley heart
