What are your glitches?

Sarah, on August 11, 2016 at 7:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

So, in the last few weeks

1) My fiancé was called to jury duty 5 days before our out-of-town wedding

2) My tent decorator died

3) The charter company we are using to rent a boat for the honeymoon sent the contract, where my FH is listed as having been born in 1960 in the USSR

I'm not stressed in the least...it's all quite funny (minus the death, not funny at all).

Tell me your stories!

Glad you're not stressed. I am a little worried, but not about the wedding.

    My glitches

1.) just found out FH has epilepsy

2.) just after finding out FH wrongfully lost his job due to discrimination for said disability (still researching for lawyers)

3.) FH having a hard time finding new job due to said disability

4.) Best man and wife who is a BM are on the brink of divorce for stupidest of reasons ever (Best man's parents want them to)

As I said. Wedding planning has been easy, I haven't really been stressed or mad. Just rolling with it right meow.

    Thanks. Same to you!

I'm just super excited and happy to be 2 months out from the wedding, that all the crazy doesn't seem like much... So I guess they just seem like glitches, which is probably a good thing!! I know we'll get through it.

@martins, hope your FHs epilepsy is under control, that's a big glitch for sure!

Our biggest glitch is that our photographer is pregnant. And due on our wedding day. Yeah.

@nurse I would make sure she has somebody set to jump in incase she has it on time or early.

@martins my step dad has epilepsy as well and he is holding down a assistant manager position at an apartment complex so it is possible I hope he can get it under control it can be hard good luck.

@sarah if he notifies the courts that he will be out of town getting married they should let him out of it he just has to contact them

I was just talking about my big "Glitch" on another thread! So I live in Atlanta and our wedding is in St. Louis (all of our family and friends live there, too). I bought my dress in St. Louis and am keeping it at my mom's house so I don't drag it back and forth between STL and ATL.

I'm supposed to be getting my dress fitted soon but David's wants me to make two appointments exactly two weeks apart for the alterations, no exceptions. I'm going to STL August 25th-29th and again around the 18th of September for my bridal shower, so it's a little longer than two weeks between trips and they refuse to work with me!

So now I have to find an alterations place in STL that will work with me so I don't have to drive my dress back and forth and so I don't have to go alone to my alterations appointments Smiley sad

My glitches ( 235 days left I got a while)

    1. Im not sure my MOH is actually going to be my MOH she's not talking to me and she docent doesn't like her father (father of the groom) so she may decide not to show.

    2. I don't have money to pay a deposit on any sort of venue or vender untill tax return.

3.purchased my dress on Amazon, amazon pinged my account on the 5th and today I randomly have the money back no decline notice on my account and no message from the seller on Amazon so I have no clue what is going on with my dress.

@Jessica I bought my dress in Ohio, where the wedding is, but live in San Francisco. The wedding is the 27th, and my first fitting is on the 17th. So I would advise you find another seamstress!! OR, have the dress shipped to you in STL and fly back with it. The flight attendants will hang it in first class for you. It should only take one flight.

@Sarah, I always drive because we take our dog with us and we need the car to drive all around to different family members' houses and meetings with vendors and such Smiley sad I think I'm going to call around tomorrow to the seamstresses in the STL area and see what they can help me work out.

DH got laid off the week before the wedding, we ended up not being able to pay the videographer in time so we didn't have one, when we cut into the cake it was the wrong flavor, we forgot to practice our first dance with the dress so DH stepped all over it and forgot the steps, and I still wouldn't change a single second of it...ok except maybe the bit where Nick got laid off that's admittedly been pretty stressful but unavoidable with oil down the way it is.

I found out my partners mum was adopted. Not a big deal except we need her birth certificate to get married. They should accept it, fingers crossed.

@Rosie My officiant is coming to Ohio from LA, and it's unclear whether his license will be cleared in time (he's licensed in California). Worst case, we're going ahead with a "fake" non-binding ceremony. It just means we could get one more secret wedding day at city hallSmiley smile

@Sarah, if they don't accept if we will just move it somewhere else. We're only having a handful of people so it wouldn't be too hard.
