We’re doing dried flower cones. I bought a cheap dehydrator off of amazon and I’ve been drying flowers from my garden for the last 6 months. I’m also drying any cut flowers that I’ve gotten as gifts and asking friends and family if they can give any flowers. We made the cones out of cardstock. You can just take a 5x5 piece of cardstock and turn it into a cone.

Hi Cherie, when are you planning the exit? Will it be the traditional- running out of the "church" ceremony and to the reception? Or will it be at the end of the reception? And, will it happen during the day or at night?

If at night, pick something that can be seen like sparklers, glowsticks or chinese lanterns.

If during the day, it really depends on how many people you have and how big the items are.

I just attended a wedding where the bride chose bubbles and lavender. But you couldn't see them hardly at all when they ran through. And as hard as it was, trying to blow a bubble out of a tiny wand, it was hard to pinch and toss the lavender in time too. That, and due to the pandemic, there was only about 25 people max. Years ago, I attended a wedding that had 100 guests and the bride handmade the bubble wands for the guests. Not only did those bubbles work but there were so many guests that it looked beautiful! So, if you go the bubbles route, just be careful! It could be amazing or disappointing depending on the wands.

If you plan on having a "church" exit, you'll have the most people to toss stuff. If you have a reception exit, it might be better to plan it at night so lights could give you the illusion of enough in the line.

Is your wedding outdoors? If so, they make Ecofetti. It’s basically confetti that dissolves when water hits it. It’s environmentally safe & you can get it in tons of colors!
