I only have the caterer for Dinner. I am stuck on what to serve for the cocktail hour. Cocktail hours starts at 5:00 pm and Dinner starts at 7:00pm. What you serving during your cocktail hour? and what kinda time do you have between cocktail hour and dinner? Plus I will probably be making whatever...

What you serving during your cocktail hour? and what kinda time do you have between cocktail hour and dinner? Plus I will probably be making whatever it is myself now. So it needs to be kinda simple.

    Open bar

    Deli/fruit/veggie trays

Passed apps we haven't decided on yet. Smiley smile

    ....maybe something like......

-mini potato pancakes or puffs with applesauce

    -mushroom tarts

    -mini reuben sandwiches??????

Our meal is Polish/German food, we're trying to find things that "go". Smiley smile

    Then beer, wine & sangria.

Oooo we are having fried alligator at 'mingle' hour!! im so excited!!

anyway lol ours will b about and hour and its catered.. grilled chz bites, chicken and bacon bites and the alligator.

if i had to do it myself i would def do fruit and chz.. safeway will make massive pretty ones for u.. they also do meat and chz trays.. there are also places that do trays of some sort.. at my moms wedding she had a mexican restaurant do mini tacos, taquitos and mini nachos. They put like a spoonful of beans and blah blah on one tortilla chip so its not a huge platter that everyone is digging into.. guess it depends on your means of heat! good luck!

You always need a sweet and sour meatball, maybe some shrimp, cheese & crackers, veggies w/dip, maybe chicken skewers, fruit skewers

We will be having mini quiches, shrimp pockets, and mini crab cakes. There will also be fruit salad.

I have had the appetizers from Sam's Club/Bjs, and they are yummy!

Deena, the potato balls you are talking about are called relleno de papa and they are delicious, I'm so jealous you are having them for your cocktail hour!

I noticed no one has mentioned salads or pasta salads. I'm considering them both with crusty bread. Either this or just a cheese, meat and cracker spread.

Anyone think salads will be too heavy for a full cocktail hour?
