What are you getting each other for Xmas/gift giving season?

I have no idea what to get my fiance for Christmas. I asked him but he has no idea, I told him the same thing for myself. Gift giving season is hard because I don't want to give gifts that people don't like or won't use. I don't mind receiving gifts but I enjoy experiences more than physical gifts....

I suggested that we do something different this year, but we haven't come up with anything.

What are your plans for gift giving season?

We just ordered our photo album, and that's my gift to us! (Shutterfly had a massive sale... but then we had to deal with their buggy website, so... eh. It caused some stress.)

I have no idea what he's getting me.

But it is our first married Christmas and we don't even have our tree up yet!

This is kind of where I'm at with gifts. We have room for both the wedding and gifts but I feel guilty spending money on anything because I keep thinking what part of our wedding that money could go to.

Oooh I went swimming in JA on a bioluminescent lake. It was great, a little scary to be in the water at night but totally worth it. A cooking class sounds like a good idea, I'll add that to my list.

Putting up the tree together should be fun. I am already making plans for what I will do when we live together. My fiance does not decorate at all. I gave him a small (less than a foot tall) light a tree a few years ago because I felt sorry for him. He faithfully lights it up every year. LOL

My FH Never buys himself anything. He’s still wearing shoes that I met him with over 5 years ago. I use Christmas to really splurge on the things he needs: work boots, fashionable sneakers, a few shirts and jeans etc.

Wow that sounds amazing! Quick funny story; when we went out guide told us about the critters we may see in the water and what to do if one is near us. so me and my fiance get in the kayak and take off, then all of a sudden we feel a thump under us. I panic and tell him it must be a kayak so we pick up our oars and wait for it to pass like the guide told us to. a few seconds later we try to move, but we're stuck. we call over our guide and tell her we can't move and think there's a manatee under us, so she comes over. my heart is racing a million miles a second. She comes over and shines her light under the boat which was clear and informs us we are stuck on a ROCK! Man did we feel stupid lol.

Have fun with whatever you decide to do!

We decided to only do stocking stuffers with a max of $10 each. I got him a glow in the dark yo-yo from the dollar store, a tube of his fav chap stick (he always steals mine LOL), one of those giant Ferraro roche chocolate balls and a hand painted ornament from when I traveled to Maine that I found on sale. He got me a Christmas pillow with avocados on it (it’s adorable!!) which he gave me when we were decorating on Saturday ❤️

We're actually going on a cruise in January so we've limited gifts to each other this year. I really got him things he needs, like new headphones, underwear, and a new phone case. I'm honestly the same way. As I've gotten older, I care more about experiences than material things.

I thought of a wallet on Etsy where you can get your handwriting engraved on it. I was going to engrave a couple lines off my vows I missed due to nerves.

We don't exchange gifts anymore for birthdays or Christmas. If anything, we try to plan an activity (seeing a show, getting away for a weekend, fancy dinner) around our anniversary.

This is what I'm aiming for, but now the burden is on me to figure out what to do. We both usually buy whatever we want or need on our own, so when birthdays/holidays roll around there isn't anything to gift. He's a home body but I think I can get him out the house a little more.

My FH and I usually go all out on gift buying. We pay attention all year to figure out what each other needs /wants. Last year he got a new down duvet/cover, down pillows, sheets, a steak knife set, sonos speakers and a few strategy games. This year we're not doing anything. We're getting married in February..thats enough to worry about/spend money on. My mom asked for ideas for him..so I told her to get him a few things that I had thought of before we decided to forgo the gifts this year.

Aaaaaaand Shutterfly was having yet more of a massive sale, so...

Bought ourselves an ornament with wedding pictures on it.

    A wedding portrait.

And framed picture collages for our parents.

Somebody please take away my debit card, I've done really awful things to my bank account.
